Tampa doesn't need to trade Kucherov anytime soon even if they acquired Karlsson
his cap hit 4.7 mil this year and that's gold for a team making every attempt to win the Cup now
after the season, yeah, major cap issues trying to get Kucherov to fit
but, it wouldn't make sense for them to trade him now for a package of Ranger prospects - jimbro83
Karlsson and Kucherov in a 3-way trade is pure 'trade-porn' |

Look, you're the one trying to sell Zib as something he is not. He is very good, imo. I have no problem with him being on the team. Just don't say he's a true 1C. - gravey914
He is the Rangers #1, whether you want to call him that or not. What I’ve said from beginning, is he’s just hitting his prime and I think he’s capable of putting up at least 60 points if he can finally stay healthy. Having a pure goal scorer with him would help his assist totals. He did score 27 goals last year even missing 10 games. Compare that to all the guys you consider legit #1’s. Zib has a good combo of speed, size and skill. If he was playing with elite wingers he’d have a lot more points |

Him being the Rangers #1 center has noting to do with him being a bonafide, league wide viewed #1 Center. Not even close. The stats prove otherwise.
As for the 60 point remark, he would have need 13 points in the 10 games he missed to reach that mark. |

Zib isn't exactly a rookie anymore, so his potential is pretty much what he has shown thus far through 4+ seasons. Of course he might put up #1 C numbers, but he hasn't done so yet, and until he actually does, he can't be considered #1 C...Why is this so hard to understand? |

Players at his age usually start to peak right now. So I expect him to exceed the 47 points he put up last year and his career high of 51. But to say he's a #1 center because he's on the Rangers 1st line, is asinine.
Again, nobody is saying Zib should be moved. He's got a decent cap hit and the term on his deal is good. I just don't expect him to be a 65+ point player. |

What don’t you understand? His 27 goals is comparable to other 1c’s. If he had an elite scorer playing with him, his point totals would be comparable too!! |

They might look at it as everyone will know they’re tight on the cap if not over and HAVE to trade Kucherov, lower return. If they could get a return of roster players that are cost controlled, maybe Skjei Buch ++ they might be willing. Tricky situation |

I (we) get that, but I don't want to get raped for Kuch, just to see if Zib truly is a number 1 C. Anyone will play better w/ elite talent on their wings.......just ask Nam., but at what cost does NYR attempt to do that in first 3 months of rebuild. |

Just want to chime in my two cents here: RE Zib being a 1C
I see what Tom is saying about Zib not being a true 1C. Compared to someone like Crosby, Tavares, Stamkos etc., Zib is clearly not a "top" 1C, no disagreement here.
However, there are 31 teams now in the NHL. That means you now have 31 1Cs in the league. If healthy, Zib is clearly in that top 31, he may be around the 25-30 range, but he IS a 1C. |

Re-assess at the TDL or after next season when some of these guys are UFAs. |
