- jimbro83

You gonna miss Skjei and Chytil?

The fact that Ottawa would most likely demand the Rangers first rder (unprotected because they don’t have one) is enough to send me running to the hills screaming noooooooo!! And how anyone could dismiss that like it no big deal, is flat out bonkers
- Slimtj100

We’ve drafted 5 guys in 1st round over 2 years. You really think that one pick is going to turn out to be “the one”? Maybe he turns out to be the next Mcilwrath or Sangunetti? As I’ve said, I think you’re all selling the Rangers short. They’re not tanking next year. Regardless of them trading for Karlsson or not, they have a decent enough roster to make playoffs.

Again, you’re looking at this short term. Who was our elite scoring threat on the wing when we went to finals? I think Kreider is a legit 30 goal guy if he stays healthy. Maybe 40. Curious to see what Meskanen can do in nhl. Has steadily developed. A late bloomer who could surprise people next year. Chytil has chance of cracking top 9 at center. Zib has developed into a solid 1c. Another guy who if he stays healthy can probably put up at least 60 points. Remember, him and Hayes are both former 1st round picks. This is what we want from prospects.
- junaka3

Kreider has never scored 30, let alone gotten close to 40. Oh boy. Zibanejad isn't a number 1 center. He's a good 2. I can list #1 centers if you want.

Zibanejad is 25. He’s better right now than Stepan or Brassard where when we had them. He had 27 goals and 47 points last year while missing 10 games... not unrealistic to expect more. Kreider should be able to pass 30. The ability is there. To me, this is his make or break year. Time to put up or move on. He plays PP... with a healthy Shattenkirk on point (and the possible addition of EK) His totals should go up. Last year was a disaster for all. Everything went wrong.

Mika Zibanejad has surpassed the 50 point mark one time. Does he have ability, yeah, has he shown enough of it. no. Like you said he needs to stay healthy

I'm gonna give you a list of #1 centers. Excluding one year wonders Barzal and W.Kalrsson. Also exlcuding Giroux bcause he spent the majority of the year at RW.

So that leaves:
Crosby
Malkin
Backstrom
Kuznetsov
Tavares
Matthews
Barkov
Mackinnon
Seguin
McDavid
Stamkos
Kopitar
Monahan
Scheifele
Bergeron
Couture

You couldn't be grasping any hard at the straws you're trying to sell here.

Sure why not lol

Here’s my conditions for taking both of them:

not trading:

Andy
Chytil
Skjei
hajek
Howden
Kravtsov
Miller
Nils
Or the next two years of first rders

And I must still be able to sign Panarin (have cap flexiblity)

If I can do all that, by all means get them to NY

So let's say Dallas is in fact offering Heiskanen. The Rangers are going to have to top that offer.

Edit: Let's say Gorton tell Dorion that Skjei is off the table. If I were Dorion I'd ask for Chytil, Lundkvist, one of Miller/Kravtsov/Day/Rykov/Lindgren and a protected 1st round pick.

Yeah. Exactly. That is why I don't want to trade for him. If he were a UFA, sign him. 7 years 12+ million. Throw trucks of money at him.

You might think otherwise, but I’m confident in Gorton not to (frank) up anything if they do in fact trade for Karlsson, or both of them. Like he wouldn’t give up that much

And who’s to say Karlsson wants any other team other then the NYR after next year and refuses any sort of extension, I think that’s possible also. Him and Hank are besties aren’t they? No one seems to think that’s a possibility. Almost forcing Dorian to trade him here for chump change

I would have to think that no team is going to give up the haul that is needed if they don't have some sort of guarantee that he will re-sign.

That could be the holdup.....EK might not be willing to give up his shot at UFA, just like JT...For most superstars, they get one shot at the UFA bonanza, and I think every guy in that position should explore many teams when the summer of UFA is coming.

It seems very logical considering how long this is taking. It doesn’t help Ottawa that they’ve made Karlsson very uncomfortable with the whole Hoffman thing. Like now he couldn’t give a rats ass what happens to the franchise like he would if that whole thing never happened. He lost all loyalty to them

Tb beat writer said the Rangers are fixated on Kucherov and TB hasn’t closed any doors on that. Maybe it’s not as outlandish as we think

Loyalty should only be taken into consideration when all things are equal...They weren't in JTs case and they certainly aren't equal in Ott.

-Trade for Kucherov and get Ryan and Cally (to give up less assets)
- Sign Panarin, Seguin and Ryan Ellis next summer

I’m using Monopoly money, but (frank) it!!

All seriousness, Seguin probably stays in Dallas
