I’d give them Skjei but nothing else. And that’s not good enough.
This is what they’re gonna want:
Skjei
Chytil or Anderson
Non protected 1st next year
So now how do you feel? - Slimtj100
I’m ok with giving Skjei, as I’ve already mentioned. The unprotected 1st, I’m also ok with, since I think we can recoup a 1st rounder by dealing Zuc at deadline. As far as Chytil or Anderson, I don’t know how you can be so sure of that, but I doubt Rangers would do it. Again, I like where we are at, not looking for an argument. Looking down road we do have an abundance of prospects at certain positions. (Goalie, left D and center) Right D is not one of them. All I’m saying is it’s great to have a deep prospect pool, but looking at ages of players we have and amount of guys at certain positions, it’s realistic to think some of them could be dealt in future anyways. Most scouting reports have Anderson’s ceiling as a 3c, maybe 2c.... with Zib only 25 and Hayes 26... Chytil. Spooner and Namestikov can play center. Howden coming up? We Definately have many pieces to get a deal done and still be set for years |

Maybe they wanted more? Nash got us Lindgren, Spooner and a 1st. You don’t think our leading scorer would get at least a 1st.??? |

Maybe we don’t get Karlsson, but helping Tampa by taking Cally is asinine. Regardless we still need help at right D, so if we are involved as a 3rd party, I’d want Stralman, not Cally. Again, I’d rather not help Tampa, so maybe we find a decent right D somewhere else... if we’re not going for Karlsson then hopefully he goes west!! |

If we only read posters being right, it would be both boring and 'done in a sec'... |

Ok fine. The Rangers don't have enough depth down the middle, an elite scoring threat on the wing or enough NHL capable defensemen in order for Karlsson to make a difference. Better? Ok good. |

By the time the rangers are legit contenders that team will start to get old and break down from playing the finals every year and I can’t worry about another team when I’ve got my own to worry about and trying to make them the next TB Lightning |

Literally. Ottawa just made this exact type if deal for Duchene and it killed them. |

Ottowa? The team that beat us season before last? Team that was 1 goal away from finals? Try to see big picture. Things change from year to year. 3 of the teams in conference finals last season missed playoffs previous year. Who knows which teams emerge as contenders next year. I think fans are selling Rangers short. Again, looking long term too. I’m not helping Tampa |

The fact that Ottawa would most likely demand the Rangers first rder (unprotected because they don’t have one) is enough to send me running to the hills screaming noooooooo!! And how anyone could dismiss that like it no big deal, is flat out bonkers |

Again, you’re looking at this short term. Who was our elite scoring threat on the wing when we went to finals? I think Kreider is a legit 30 goal guy if he stays healthy. Maybe 40. Curious to see what Meskanen can do in nhl. Has steadily developed. A late bloomer who could surprise people next year. Chytil has chance of cracking top 9 at center. Zib has developed into a solid 1c. Another guy who if he stays healthy can probably put up at least 60 points. Remember, him and Hayes are both former 1st round picks. This is what we want from prospects. |

That Fatmarsch guy, ddc coga or whatever, has the best deal I’ve seen. Barrie and the first Ottawa lost in the Duchesne trade for Karlsson. Maybe they can get another piece but that would make the fans at least feel a lil better up there to get that pick back. |
