Regardless of how this plays out. What I was told and reported, has not happened. That's 100% on me. I was told and said a deal was done, and only needed approval from the NHL. If that was the case, the deal would be done today. Sincere apologies to everyone.

This (frank)ing guy. - tomburton99
I thought it was Craig Simpson when I saw “Simmer”
Edit: I actually take that as good news because in that tweet he mentioned nothing about a 3rd party, ie-the Rangers

Ott gets: T Johnson, A Kilhorn, M Beleskey, TB 2019 2nd (from NYR)
TB gets: E Karlsson, V Namestnikov (NYR retain $2M), M Zuccarello
NYR gets: B Ryan, R Callahan, TB 2019 1st, TB 2020 1st, C Foote
Ottawa jump starts their rebuild with 2 solid players, a pick, and unloading B Ryan.
NYR become the cap dumpster and fully embrace the tank this season but earn themselves 2 late 1st round picks and a top prospect to build around
TB gets 2 forwards to replace what they paid for Karlsson, one of whom they know can play in their system at half price and they don't have to take on B Ryan's contract.

The Blues are making a hard push to sign UFA forward and native St. Louisan Pat Maroon. Maroon’s camp is staying patient and weighing their options and a deal does not appear imminent . #stlblues

Rangers lose Zuke, Nemestnekov, Belesky & a 2nd round pick, take on $4M total in Nemestnakov's contract, Callahan's contract, Ryan's 4 YEAR contract and in return get Foote, and 2 very late, basically 2nd round draft picks????
BTW what do you do if Tampa wins the Cup? They are already getting their 2019 1st rounder

Ottawa would do that why? Trading money and the best player for just money. No wonder they call you the Maskedman
The key holdup is whether Melnyk will sell his franchise or not, because of two key facts that are well known in Ottawa, starting with Karlsson having said that he would not re-sign with Ottawa unless their ownership changes hands. Then he further backed that earlier made statement when he refused Ottawa's 8 year extension offer that according to Bruce Garrioch first, among some others later, "MAY HAVE BEEN NORTH OF $80M reported to be on July 1st".
All teams know that E.K. is seeking, for one certainly, in excess of Drew Doughty's 8 year/$88M contract recently signed. Last season, Karlsson had even stated that he wanted to be (at least then), "the NHL's highest paid player" on his new deal. In addition, he has a Modified 10 team NTC that he has submitted to them for not being willing to accept a trade to.
So it could be Karlsson himself that may be holding up this trade, should his real first desire is to remain in Ottawa, and be willing to wait and find out if his owner will sell the franchise, even if it should require until possibly up to the start of next summer's free agency beginning, in that latter means as Tavares.

These Karlsson trade discussions are very fluid. Ryan part of equation in some respect. None of the notable players potentially involved on any side have been told anything is imminent. Things can change on a dime, but last we’ve been told is talks with multiple teams are ongoing
Eventually this guy has to pull an EK and be right once. You'd hope at least.
