Its early, someone will pay up. If not they hang onto him and some team will pay the same as offerings now at deadline . No worries really,it is what it is. Plus the added advantage to that is the sens might not be a bottom 5 team - spazzbot
I'm not trying to be a tool, but I would be shocked if the Sens aren't a bottom 5 team
Again, not trying to be mean. But this is going to be a very young team in many places, or the veterans they do have have fairly low ceilings, except for Stone and Duchene
They could play hard and smart and make teams work for it, but yeah. Think they're in the bottom 5 again

Ottawa already has a strong prospect pool. If they can add 2 or 3 nice pieces now the future gets even brighter. Rebuilding teams come back very quickly when they commit to the full rebuild. Veteran cap teams (Washington and Pittsburgh) win Stanley Cups. But they needed tear downs to build their base.
Whatever is happening now we know it is all about an owner in crisis. Everyone just needs to step back and allow him to unravel. He has very little leverage left and even less money. - spatso

Tkachuk, Bratherson, Brown , Formenton , Bernard-Docker, Gruden, Chlapik , Jaros. Not the best list in the league, but decent. |

tkackuk should be an nhl player. like every other team, most of the rest won't make it. just the reality of prospects. |

I don't post here very often but to be honest I am very close to walking away from this team. I hate what is happening to it and I can't figure out Melnyks stance on not selling. People are going to walk away from this team. They just are. And moving it won't help him as everyone across the league and every fan knows what he is like. This is a sad time. Rival fans may find it hilarious but it really is very sad. |

So, reports that Rangers are now part of 3 way with Sens and Bolts. I really thought Edmonton was the team to be third team in.
Most speculation is Callahan back to NY.
NY? |

You could be right, but I have a gut feeling Formenton will be at least a good 3rd liner. |

So they take on Callahan's salary and get what as well in return to do so?
Just how bad are the finances in Ottawa that they can't take any salary back? |

Wow a joke by a Buffalo fan. What have you done lately? Luckily you guys have a decent 1-3 punch with Eichel, ROR and Mittelstadt now |

Just guessing. Not uncommon in sale of a company that the old company cleans up the books and makes expenses as lean as possible. Sometimes I hope this is what is happening here.
Callahan is the name that keeps coming up but it would serve the Bolts end purpose if could be Coburn, Girardi or even McDonagh. Tampa supporter thought their D was too slow in playoffs. |

I understand the frustration as described in the blog, but if Tampa offers up Cal Foote plus a couple of other pieces like Raddysh or Cirelli or Katchouk, plus picks, something like that, then take it and move on
Yeah, it sucks. But the reason the offers are low is because everybody knows that he's gonna walk at the end of the year and then you can sign him and not give up a thing.
I would be surprised if the offers got any better, tbh. There's no winning when you trade a player like that, in this circumstance - AllInForFlyers
Yeah but every team can't sign him for free when he walks, only one can, so if TB is trying to lowball now because they think they have the upper hand, best to hold on to him into the season, at which point anything could happen. (Including our crappy owner selling the team and EK deciding to stay), worst case we sell him to another team that wants to go all in for a cup, and maybe get a head start on an extension. You only sell low when time is of the essence. I would even like to see them trade him to TBs biggest competition and for him to help eliminate them from the playoffs, if Yzerman keeps playing games. |

Yzerman does not play games. He will pay a fair price. And, it will involve a good player coming back |

Anderson is fighting with his wife against cancer, great goalie
Karlsson is carrying the team on one ankle
Bobby Ryan is looking like a dominant power winger
Mike Hoffman is doing the foresberg move against star goalies
Kyle Turris & Clarke MacArthur are scoring big goals
Dion Phanuef is even doing that
Marc Methot is a stable partner for 65
now....
NO Methot (nothing to show)
NO Phaneuf (nothing to show)
NO Turris (Duchene, will be BIG $; NO 2019 1st)
NO Hoffman (nm to show)
NO Ryan (nothing to show if we are lucky)
NO Karlsson (TBD)
Anderson.....apparently asked for a trade
