Nope...good old fashioned debates. Matthews for Ekblad. Would you do it?
Nylander plus for EK? - Woderwick
I'd think hard about Nylander for Ekblad. Not sure I'd want to give up anything else though. |

Barkov and Ekblad for Matthews would be robbery. It's debatable Matthews is even worth Ekblad. - Unholy_Goalie
Oh my, is this guy for real? |

Yup.
But one thing I'm confident in is that we'll always be in good shape cap-wise. Still an interesting article.
Pass on Maroon. Not sure I want to play him ahead of Johnsson and he's not going to want to play on the 4th line.
I'd rather we signed a center to play on the wing on the 4th line. Can't have too many centers (TB good example). - gravyface
Meh, if he's willing to take a bit f a discount sure.
Can trade off a winger or two for D. |

Even with Tavares, I don't believe the Leafs have the depth to compete with the Lightning. The Leafs have a good team but Tampa's depth at all positions will make it hard for the Leafs to move past round 2. |

Kinda makes me dirty saying this, but, I dunno man....Leafs have two nice legit lines now, Lightning's defense is far superior but at forward?? |

As it stands now I tend to agree.
Ideally we'd make a move that improves our back end without busting the bank and improve on D, which is where the discrepancy lies.
Anything can happen in the playoffs though. |

Tampa's depth forwards showed their mettle last year. I think the Leafs' depth wingers still have something to prove, but in general I think it's looking good barring any major disasters. |

The issue is that the Leafs probably have the weakest group of defensemen in the east after Montreal and the Islanders. That group may not even get you to the playoffs. If Dubas is intent on seeing where it goes with this group, I think it'll be a big mistake.
I don't believe the forward group is close either. Kucherov is the best hockey player in the world. Their depth runs 4 lines deep. Our 3rd and 4th line would be some team's first or second line. |

Shouldn't be allowed to use the Habs and the Sens as a point of comparison |

I think we have the edge up front, TB has the better D by a significant margin. Goaltending probably a wash.
But yet we let in less goals last year than you did.
I think once you get into contender status, all bets are off, and I think we're there now. |
