Probably a collection of picks, prospects and decent but expendable roster players. It's not going to cost them Hedman, Stamkos, Vasilevskiy and it's unlikely it'll cost them Kucherov. The core guys will stay. The core guys in Toronto are all forwards, one of them, the lesser of them (Nylander) is expendable.

Admittedly it helps when Karlson has turned down an extension in Ottawa and therefor needs to be traded before he walks for nothing (ala Tavares) and he has supposedly stated he'll only sign an extension in Tampa... Although I just heard about the extension thing on here and don't know if it's actually true. If it does it sure helps Tampa make this trade since it gives them all the leverage.

Whatever the situation is, if the Leafs can get a top pairing D for Nylander, they'd be stupid not to do it. You can't compete in the NHL playoffs without defense, especially now that Tampa Bay has a stacked blueline and the Leafs #1 D might not even crack their top-four.

Although I agree Matthews probably wouldn't be worth both Ekblad and Barkov. As a Leafs fan though, I'd be pretty torn if we made a trade like that.
