Leafs gambled that Bozak and JVR would get them to the second round, they also showed the younger players on the team that we are here to make this team better for the playoffs and support you not sell off assets for picks. The gamble they took was maybe a late first rounder and a second. Lost the gamble - would probably do the same again and they are right.

I dunno.. I still wished they'd have traded JVR, since there was a 0% chance he was coming back. Still have a roster player come back.. a defensive upgrade or a player with a similar game as Hyman, along with picks or prospects.

Would that have sent a bad message? I'm not so sure. Addressing defensive play by trading off a PP specialist would have been the right message IMO.

After hearing Dubas' comments on what he thinks of our D, I'm convinced we're not trading for any big names. He's going to keep the D core as is (maybe add a Hamhuis to shore up the bottom pair) and wait for the kids to develop in the minors.

Patient and smart approach if you ask me....unless you can land Parayko, at which point I'd deal Nylander.

Miscalculated the time I needed to get to Atlanta airport - subway was quick, security was even quicker.

So I'm at my gate 2 hours before takeoff, and my phone buzzes - 1 hour delay. FML.
