Next Xray in 5 1/2 weeks.

It doesn't feel too bad, I'm just not taking any chances...really don't want surgery.

Seems like an odd trade, not in a cap crunch this season and trading away a player who may be able to put in some meaningful minutes for us for nothing. It may help next year when we need the cap space, but otherwise it's a loss. A very minor loss but still a loss.

Dubas has a plan and it probably doesnt involve giving time to players who are not in the future. i dont think we have even seen the tip of it. imo he would rather give any minutes to players who are part of the plan/future, developing players and promoting them when they earned it is all part of the process.

Yeah the media and rumor people really get Lou . Not reason for him to be pissed at Toronto for signing a free agent. He has a job to do and wasting time about lost assets doesn't do much for him.

Nice of him to take Martin though. Frees up some Leaf cap space

I've read that Lou was hesitant to give Tavares all that $$ and instead would have preferred to re-invest it in the team to develop other prospects.

The Leafs of course forced his hands to do so, but I seriously doubt being in the business for as long as he has Lou holds grudges like that.

Now with Martin gone, these are the worst lines I can come up with without dipping too far into the AHL pool

That makes sense to an extent. If you need him to play some games because of injury or to fill in against a bigger team since we really only have small skilled forwards it makes sense to have him. This isn't only about letting players develop while playing forth line minutes (which isn't developing that much) it's about winning games. There are times when he can help you win. He leads the league in hits for a reason (when playing fourth line minutes)

Makes sense Eamon McAdom was likely the missing piece that Pierre Dorion was looking for to complete the deal.

You have to remember what the cap is today. That's 3% of the cap space, it's a bit high but not as bad as it was 4-5 years ago.
