Leafs are not in need of smallish, softees on D. In case you haven't noticed, offence and goal scoring is not exactly lacking on Leafs. Carolina on the other hand is offensively challenged.

We don't, but I'm thinking it's a safe assumption. There is zero reasons to move him and about a million reasons for him to stay.

I know it was only 1 game and ALL of Carolina was awful so it shouldn’t be a great gauge, but Faulk was a dumpster fire in that 10-1 game last year against the leafs.
It’s left a bad taste in my mouth about him.

Lame, PD should hang up then. You have to get a blue chip high end prospect or whats the point. They are better off just doing 1 for 1 instead of taking a bunch of mediocre prospects and picks. Did Ottawa end up with anything out of HEatly and Spezza?

Dallas is most certainly in the mix on Karlsson, but I don't believe Heiskanen is someone they would part with. Could change, but right now he's not available. Vegas and at least one other team remain in talks with Ottawa. Happy 4th.

He would be great, does not make sense for Blues to trade him. On a good contract and a big RHD that is easily a top 4. More likely that Dubas wants to unload the Horton contract on a willing partner and add some grit. Love unloading Martin, he was useless, but cannot have garbage fourth line players from garbage teams intentionally trying to injure stars as Clutterback clearly did last year.

Martin was a fine 4th line player, its just he was signed for 4 years at 2.5
ideally youd want a 4th liner for what he provides for no more than 1 mil.

The other issue is, the Leafs should be building more depth..so you are forced to play 3rd line caliber players on the 4th lines..so they can run over other teams lesser lines also. i see that as the way Dubas builds a contender year after year. keep developing players year after year to fill in the 3/4 lines for cheap. leaves you lots of money to pay for top 5 players what they are worth

Why do some people think faulk is such a high talent defensemen.. he's mediocre at best.. Mitch marner, nylander, Matthews, arnt going anywhere.

Faulk is a righthanded Gardiner with a better shot, and a bit better defensive awareness.
some people say Gardiner is 'elite'.
so not so hard to imagine people would find Faulk a highly talented defenseman.
