Estephan played most of his career with the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
He was traded to the Swift Current Broncos at the deadline this year where he won a WHL Championship.
The "Lethbridge Broncos" you allege he played for haven't existed since 1986. - BINGO!
If you ever goto Lethbridge, go on a windy day. |

Leafs cap situation right now is more than ideal. There's literally no dead weight. The only iffy contract is Zaitsev and even then he's still young enough that for the next 2 years or so there's room for improvement while the cap rises and his hit becomes more manageable(I'm optimistic).
As for now I'd really just roll with what we've got. Defence isn't as big of a deal as others are making it out to be aside from perhaps replacing Polak. We'll score enough goals that as long as Freddy doesn't play more than 55 games we'll be fine. |

I would be okay starting the season with the team they currently have but I think Gardiners value will never be higher coming off his last season with his current cap hit. |

I would trade Gardiner now TBH. His value is never going to be higher...it's just a case of finding the guy you want on the blueline to make it worthwhile |

Why does de Haan suck again? - jribout
he's just a guy, there is nothing special about him. just an average defenseman. 3.8 million per is 1.8 million to much. if the leafs replace gardiner with him on their defense, they lose gardiner's offense and trade it for a guy who is ok at everything. |

Gardiner is so good, and in his prime. But i agree, they should move him. |

if they don't trade him before the deadline they lose him for nothing like they lost jvr, bozak and komarov for nothing. they should have re-signed jvr and traded bozak and komarov for whatever they could get last off season but they never did it and in turn lost all 3 for squadouche after deciding to keep them for what was pretty much well known was going to be an unsuccessful run in the playoffs. |

So...... replace Gardiner with a more defensively responsible top 4 D without giving up assets and trade Gardiner for assets? |

With things being the way they are they won't be sellers at the deadline. |

no, if you do that you replace a burgeoning elite offensive defenseman with trash that you're gonna pay almost 4 mil a season and then wonder why you don't have the cap space to sign all your young talent. |

I said at the draft to Edmonton so they could take Bouchard.
But now, they can try to go after Pietrangelo. Maybe a 3-way deal with Ottawa that sends Karlsson to St. Louis. |

that's why gardiner has to go now for upgrades on the blue line, they should not even plan to re-sign this guy. |

Wait. So we got JT and the Islanders get LK and MM?
At what point do the Leafs come away unscathed? |
