So not exactly the most credible source
It’s not like he spoke to Armstrong,
and i certainly wouldn’t think that Botts would give him details on the negotiations

I'd rather play Bailey and Baptiste instead of losing them to waivers. Waive those two. You know what you're gonna get from them. Let O'Regan center Bailey and Baptiste. At least it's fast
- jcragcrumple

As much as I’d love that, Botts won’t put Pominville in the press box. I don’t think he has the heart to do it. Pominville wasn’t too bad either last year, not worth the money he makes, but was serviceable. We have to make some moves regarding the bottom half of the roster that’s forsure.

no rather give hronek, cholowski, setkov, hicketts a chance. i want them to keep AA. Him and Larkin cause trouble with their blazing speed.

Waiting for your Thompson projections sir
- jdfitz77

I don’t have a projection for him.

He could be very good, he could bust.

The point is he or the first rounder could absolutely end up being a very good peice. Or could be moved for a NHL winger at some point.

Not to mention Berglund is no slouch.

This should tell you how bad the Sabres wanted to trade O’Reilly. In case you still didn’t buy how bad the room was with him (not saying he’s 100% at fault)

Yeah, i’m Not sure why we didn’t either unless they have something in mind ( cap wise) moving forward.
- gordong

am left to wonder if that was going to be the deal regardless, with botts saying, "if that's it, you need to pay his $7.5 m bonus...

don't have any inside info, but it might be a possibility

Food for thought:

After the 2018/19 season - $10.6 million comes off the books - Pommer/Moulson
After the 2019/2020 season - $18.9 million comes off the books - Hunwick, Scandella, Bogo, Wilson, Sheary Sobotka

I think Botts is setting us up to improve this year and next year with us going "all in" after the 19/20 season. If we go from 62 (this year) to 82 to 90 over the next 2 years, I think the fans will see the progress and understand that we don't want to rush it like we did last time with GMTM at the helm. If he could somehow get somebody to take Okposo off our hands by 19/20 - we will be in very good shape with our young guys just starting to hit their stride.

Hamilton just said he was the problem, Eichel had no problem with him, it was ROR that had the problem. Hamilton is also a poop stirrer of the highest order, so who knows?

I think considering that Bailey and Bap have to clear waivers to go to rochester, we have too many NHL players as it stands. Decisions will have to be made.
- seedy

Yes, it's time to move on from Larsson and Girgs, we know what have in them, last place.

Well i also never said there was a “zero percent chance” these pueces work out either... so slow your roll if that comment was directed at me

I’m just not a big fan of Thompson
Hoping I’m wrong though

And yeah...
taking this deal certainly does make it seem like Botts wanted to move him
Definitely not a great deal

And it’s curious he made the comment about the price going up after midnight,
but then made this deal before

Don't see a reason to question his credibility. Armstrong's interview said the deal wasn't going to happen, once the bonus was paid as well.

I'd be okay with Girgs as an extra forward, but Larsson is useless and slow, plus he seems to have that attitude that he thinks he's a lot better than reality.

Say Sobotka and the 2021 1st cancel out as irrelevant pieces.

The Sabres got a 3rd line center/wing, a good prospect, and a 1st round pick for a guy who could have potentially been their 3rd line center in a year from now.

I don’t see how that’s bad

Gotta figure that Bailey & Baptiste are making the team,
otherwise just not qualify them

So u gotta think at least 1 of Girgs or Larsson is gone,
if not both
