From Ryan Wilson's blog:

"Ryan O’Reilly is a great player. The Blues did a nice job of acquiring him without giving up assets that really meant anything to them. Buffalo was in a bad spot with this because it is clear they weren’t making a hockey trade as much as getting a player out of their locker room. The rumblings I heard were that he was sick of "babysitting" Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart. Rather than having locker room strife the Sabres made the decision to move on and get what they could."

Not sure the guy who ran his car into a Tim Hortons while drunk can claim to be babysitting anyone

What does Drew Doughty have to do with this?

Last time we had 3 first rounders and moved them, we still ended up at the bottom. Can't rush it. Build from within
- washedup20

6 picks in the first two rounds of the 2015 draft and we only made 2 of those picks. Murray was a (frank)ing disgrace.

People crying about this trade Berglund and Sobotka could both get 2nd round picks at the dealine.

That would be
1 1st
3 2nds
Tage Thompson

For RoR
That's a haul

- sabresfan69

We technically haven’t gotten the second round picks yet i’m not sure if teams are going to take Berglund When his contract is so long

Sometimes I wonder if this website has caused over or under 100 brain aneurysms.

I saw on WebMD it says:

Brain Aneurysms leading causes are blockage, stress, and people taking HockeyBuzz discussions overly serious.

He’s so bad now it’s really sad I had high hopes for him

Would you trade Zemgus or Larsson for him, give him a shot here?

Something tells me that ROR will outperform Berg and Sabotts 5 on 5 this year.

Sounds more like he tweaked the spin to make it sound like it fit better in St. Louis .... we will probably never know exactly what the deal was though.

I’d like to keep them all. But there could be deals out there that would make sense to send one of those firsts for help at wing.

I’m pretty sure he pissed off the Montreal GM Lol I read a quote yesterday that he asked for three first-round picks and he thought he was joking

Dal Colle, Strome, Neiderretier, and Reinhart... and the islanders fans wonder why John left.

Berglund is a solid player and a good locker room guy. He would be a very good edition to a playoff team.

I am not saying it will happen now but he can fetch a 2nd

So what, does Bergevin even have anything we want other than picks?

How good was ROR? I realize he's good because he plays for team canada and literally everyone gushes over how good he is etc, but honestly when I watched him play with the Sabres he never really stood out. I assume it's his 2 way game and doing the little things right? Or maybe cause he hasn't played on teams with winning records its tough for his skills to stand out?

I mean it worth a shot But honestly don’t think he has a chance at the NHL

He’s on year 5 now I think

He's good, no doubt, but slow, overpaid, bratty, and the league looks to be getting younger and faster, so he'll soon be left behind.

I think he will do well in St Louis, where there is already a leadership core and he can just close his mouth and play.

He should have a good year next year before the wheels fall off.

He will be a great piece on a good team, but he is certainly not taking over any games on his own

I don't know why I am always curious to do this but I am...

I plugged in both of these recent Botts trades into NHL 18 and got the following responses.

4th rounder for Sheary & Hunwick
"I take my job very serious and I recommend that you take yours more serious with that offer"

3rd rounder for Sheary & Hunwick
"These players are viewed as pivotal for our future and are not willing to part with them for this offer"

2019 1st, 2021 2nd, Tage Thompson, Berglund & Sobotka for ROR
"We are not even close to common ground on coming to terms on this trade"

He is a good player

Not a great one

He isn't Bergeron

He plays a lot of minutes, but hasn't produced well 5 on 5. I am sure that will change a bit in St. Louis playing with Schwartz and Tarasenko.

He isn't a great skater. He does win battles in the corners.

Not a great shot but not a bad one either. He is a good hockey player that was overpaid here.

He could end up putting up 70 points in St. Louis but he needed to go
