The Sabres got a good mix of short and long term assets. For a top 6 overpaid center. Good for Botts. This team is better already. The dynamic, as he promised, has certainly changed. More needs to be done to add top 6 talent, but we're getting closer.

This might be a genius move. We now have plenty of scraps to not protect in the next expansion draft.

Was just about to post. If you're looking for a reason to be excited about Tage Thompson, 16 of his 18 points last year in the AHL (30 GP) were primary points. Pretty good for a U-20 skater

He hasn’t lit it up at any level as far as goals go, so I’m far from confident that he will become one now in the NHL

Third line center, third line winger, both of whom scored more ES goals than ROR, a 1st, something one of our members would kill for, a 2nd, and a former first round pick that needs a little more time to become a top 6 forward? Yeah

The Sabres got a good mix of short and long term assets. For a top 6 overpaid center. Good for Botts. This team is better already. The dynamic, as he promised, has certainly changed. More needs to be done to add top 6 talent, but we're getting closer.

Good mix of short and long term assets? Two 30 year old 30 point max 3rd liners who are under the books for another 3-4 years at only 150,000 less than O'Reilly's cap. Not even a top 3 prospect from the Blues who COULD be good but has thus far looked slow and not ready for the NHL and a 1st round pick.. I'd say that's a lot of blah wrapped up to look nice.

Anyone know what's up with Vasili Glotov? I thought we already had him signed. He looked real good at the 3-on-3 Tournament. It isn't showing he is signed on Capfriendly and I thought I saw him on there the other day. It also says he played for Cinci in the ECHL and Rochester in the AHL for a game last year but says that he is unsigned on Elite Prospects.

Thats kind of funny. Besides eichel and reinhart, i wouldnt be able to find another forward to protect right now.

ROR was a minus player, crappy locker room presence that forced his way out of two organizations, and needed to play 24 minutes a game just to average 60 points a year. Berglund can play against the Tavares line... Casey can get better matchups now. We need veterans to show these young players how to come to work everyday. Not a 26 year old with a drinking problem. ROR didn't do anything to bring us out of the basement, is slow footed, and has a disgusting contract. We won the trade.

He's on an AHL deal, which doesn't count towards the eligibility thing. He needs to sign an NHL deal before June 2020.

Yes, he did play for Rochester and Cincy. He might be going back to juniors, though. Kid was a steal for a 7th rounder.

My guess is that T-Pegs put pressure on Botts to move ROR before they had to give him $7.5 million.

Obviously Botts wants nothing to do with him, seeing he wants to play in the CHL.

ROR won't let them down. Until he does. And he will. Because he needs to be better.
