Edmonton is a perfect example of what happens to teams when you sign two players to a stupid amount of money .

This is a development year, who cares really.

Sutter as a top six player makes the team barely watchable. He's just so bad offensively he sucks the life out of any offence his wingers may have. He's a player that needs others around him to make him better offensively, not the other way around.

I like the Roussel signing, he's only 29 in November and he'll make the team harder to compete against.

They've gotta build organizational depth again, Murray destroyed that. Eichel and Dhalin are GREAT building blocks though!!

Slow and steady wins the race, I do think they could get a better offensive center than Sutter in the trade market though.

I would hedge my bets and say he will be. That was a look forward contract for a kid/center that's 21 years old and scores almost a point a game. If he stays healthy and gets some help he'll be on a good contract.

Benning hasn't drafted a center, in his defence the BPA hasn't really presented itself as a center though.

Same as 3 million is the new 1 million for 4th liners. The cap also goes up every year so the 3 million will look much better in years 3-4 of contracts.

For sure... I wasn't talking about drafting though. Just acquiring through trade or free agency. It's really a league wide issue, good centers are hard to come by, and usually very expensive.
