Was on mynhltraderumors.com. Teams that sucked on first day of free agency.

I'll explain Van's moves. (because we don't already know why)

Started off decent with Dorsett. Lost that early season (among other injuries) Archie comes in and at the end team does a bit better. Welcome in Roussel.

They were soft, bring in Schaller.

Lost Henrik, need points from somewhere. Better then paying 7 million a season for a winger they don't need. In come Beagle, free's up Sutter to HOPEFULLY provide a bit more offence then he has.

Baertschi Horvat Boeser
Leipsic Sutter Roussel
Virtanen Gagner Granlund
Schaller Beagle Eriksson
Goldy

Sorry nighthawk.

Two less positions for young guy but maybe they want young guys in the AHL? This whole competition narrative is a crock of poop

Defence needs improvement so hopefully something happens there.

I think Jim is bringing in Hughes and Pettersson this year . That is plenty of new bodies.

Goldobin Gaunce Granlund Gaudette Dahlen Leipsic will all be battling for two spots

Looks like Flames are in Cap Hell

After signing Neal they have 18 signed with 12 mil in space. They need to sign RFAs Hanifin Lindholm Jankowski and a goalie

- VANTEL

And they have 5 RFAs with arbitration rights, it will be an interesting summer trying to get them signed.

The goal was to be "less soft" Waiving Schaller for Pettersson is literally the opposite. Would need to trade a soft forward. Baertschi, Granlund, Goldy, Leipsic.

I'd get rid of Goldy. Youngest, still on a cheap contract. Might be worth the most.

Package Goldy and Hutton for something.

Im not sure schaller was brought in to be more physical, or grittier, but more so "harder to play against". I think hes more of an insurance/depth signing than anything else. If we lose schaller to waivers, no harm no foul. If he has a great season, he can also be traded. I think roussel was brought in for protection.

I think the lineup will be this next year

Sven Bo Brock
LE Sutter Roussel
Gagner Beagle EP
Leipsic Schaller Jake

Granlund

Edler Stecher
Hughes Tanev
MDZ Gudbrandson

Pouliot Biega

Hutton traded

- VANTEL

Curious, and this isn’t just directed at you, where do Gadj, Lind, Dahlen, Jasek, AG all fit in. There is term attached to the whole forward group. I know those guys will start in the AHL, most likely, but what about in a yr or two?

1.9 AAV for a depth signing? I'm not so sure. Re-signing Archie was the depth/insurance move.

This is not aimed at you . Canuck fans have got to stop thinking every player we draft will make the NHL. I am not sure Gadj or Jasek ever become a NHL player.

Granlunds contract is up at the end of the year and Dahlen could more than likely fill that spot next year.

Lind is at least 2 years away if he makes it and by then Gagners contact is up.
