Crazy Weekend. So, how good will the Leafs this year? Anyone think they might break some records as far as goals scored this year? That team is stacked with 25-40 goal scorers. - ChuckSchuldiner
I don't think Kadri scores 30 again next year. |

Says Russell starting 2019-2020 player submits a 10 team trade list.
8 team trade list for Lucic June 2021. - RonPielep
But they are still No Move. That is the key. |

Sekera becomes a modified no trade after this year so he doesn’t need protection. The other two though - Iggysbff
Gotta get rid of one of those two for sure. Preferably both |

He gets 4 million per. Probably will only take a bridge at that point. He’s no Subban though, the most he should make with his skill set is $5.75-6m....assuming he continues his development. - ChuckSchuldiner
If he ask low 4s long term, I’d take that. But I’ll bet he’s askin 5. Can’t take that gamble even if bridges can be risky
3x2, then might have to PAY |

A Russell buyout isn’t too bad after next year. |

Are you serious? 5.75-6 for Nurse! |

Yeah a little confusing. On Capfriendly it says 2019-2020 Andrej Sekera M-NTC, whereas for Lucic and Russell it says M-NTC, NMC so I'm guessing the addition of the NMC is what will matter for expansion. |

Yeah if he can't be traded. Relief in terms of expansion protection on D is probably the most crucial anyways. |

Not now dummy, in a few years if he fulfill his potential. He isn’t there yet. That’s about the most his kind can make. |

Still not clear on that with Russell. Spotrac has different information to Capfriendly and Chiarelli himself is reported by a couple people to have stated Russell's contract doesn't have a NMC. |

4.25 x6 or 7 and I say go for it. It’s a gamble, but we’re gambling on him being a stud regardless by not going after anyone better. Might as well double down.
If we go 3X2 he will probably get closer to 6mil per on his extension.

I wish there was a single official source for looking into this information. |

It would certainly be nice but alas, there isn't. As such, we need to operate on likelihoods and uncertainty. |

Leaves enough for a round of slurpees for the entire Hockey Opps staff to celebrate a pretty poopty 12 months? |

Is there anything that happened this weekend that we should be sad about with regards to player signings?
Outside of things like Neal going to Calgary there just doesn't seem to be a lot of can't miss steals. I don't mind what we ended up with especially considering how much similar players went for. |

Nope. As expected we added bottom 6 depth and will be relying on bounceback seasons/progressions from Lucc,Larsson, Klefbom, Sekeras, Nurse, jesse P , Drake and Yamamoto. No problem. |

Say there was no cap issues, what realistically made sense that we missed out on?
I think the biggest miss potentially was Berglund or Sobotka. |

Berglund and Sobotka were both cap dumps. We didn’t miss anything. |

Those guys are better value at their salaries than a lot of guys that were signed the past couple days. |

We did fine with the resources we had... aside from the Koskinen signing I'm not unhappy with this offseason so far. |

I’m pleasantly surprised there have been no large gaffs. But it’s hardly been a successful offseason. Still so many issues and holes. |
