My point exactly. Why they can't afford a 3C now. - hockeyal
That's wrong. They absolutely can afford it.

Sounds like they did not want to match the term for Riley Nash

Because they got the star level talent. Anything that goes wrong now is just bad luck or poor post-Hinkie management. - PhillySportsGuy
That's part of my point, nothing is guaranteed. If management screws it up, don't they become basketballs equivalent of the Coyotes? |

A number of players will be coming off the cap in future seasons. 18/19 is the upcoming season. - MJL
Meant 19-20 as you can tell based on who I said needed to be signed. Lots of minimum contracts coming off but other than Simmer and Raffl, and one or both goalies, none of heft. After this signing, it looks like in 19-20 the Flyers will once again lack depth at forward. Great. |

You know what, you are correct. They did come out, and will continue to come out. I come here daily to read this site, because I respect most of the poster's opinions. However, when I open the comments and some of the first posts have to do with the Brayden Schen trade, and how horrible the sixers are for tanking. It gets me a little ticked off.
What do either of those things have to do with JVR? the future dev. camp that is happening right now? or the next moves that the flyers may make?
If you don't want to allow other people's opinions on this site, then so be it. If you want it to be/stay a Good Ole Boys Club, thats fine then stay in your cliques, and maybe take some of MJL advice and don't read my posts.
I feel like I have to pass some sort of test to post to the site, what is up with that?

Speaking of which, went down there today for Group B. Ratcliffe stood out because he could manhandle everyone. Frost was by the the standout. Farabee was good, but with just drills, hard to get a read on him. Actually thought Friedman looked the best after Frost. |

Not going to pretend I know more than the scouts. From what I read, I would take Wahlstrom over Farabee. That's not diss to Farabee because it sounds like he could be a solid NHL player. I definitely would not have traded both picks to get a higher pick. And man, if both Farabee and O'Brien are impactful NHL players it will have been a great draft for the Flyers. - FlyerFan16
I hear you on that one. I think Farabee will be great, but doesn't it sometimes seem like we always talk about how player A is a 200ft player, with some sort of negative connotation? Maybe that is just me, but I would have loved to finally just have a sniper, and justify the player by saying he is an elite offensive player. From what the scouts say though, Farabee has great offensive upside as well. |

Lots of minimum contracts come off with more more coming on. Not seeing the full picture. Look at the prospect base the Flyers have at forward.

I don't see how you can take from my comment that they can afford it that says don't worry about the future.

Only people who are fans of scoring, but don't understand hockey think being a 200ft player is a bad thing. |

What?
The Coyotes never had close to this level of talent. The Sixers have had horrible luck with injuries and their #1 forgot how to shoot and they still finished with the 5th best record in the league while being led by a group of guys in their early 20s. It would take quite a bit to screw this thing up |

Frost looked good? I wonder if he has a real shot at making the team this year, with all the talk of not grabbing another center. It is going to be interesting when Ratcliffe and Allison get a shot at making the roster, if not the Flyers at least the phantoms. |

Filppula to the Isles. Their fans must be relieved that they were able to quickly find a capable replacement for Tavares.

They can afford one now, they can't and shouldn't go long term with one. Too many kids coming up soon. They could target a vet with 2 years or so remaining on their contract. They have plenty of options and why I said we have to see what happens between now and the start of the season. |

I was referring to becoming irrelevant with my Coyotes comment. Agree that they are set up nicely for a long run at contending. Good luck to them. |

I think what I am complaining about is that I think certain people on this site just like to argue and be negative, just for the sake of arguing and being negative. And as a reader you get fed up, so I make a post. Not caring at all what people think.
When said people seem to have no ground to stand on in regards to my comment, they then say where did you come from? Characters coming out of the wood work? Kind of sounds like to me, that shouldn't factor into the conversation, right? Has nothing to do with the topic being discussed. Kind of high schoolish, no? |

The Wild have a bunch of centers on 1 and 2 year deals. Could definitely see Hextall going after someting there. |
