The thing I find funny about all this is dislike for all these bottom contracts . The amount of complaining is entertaining.
Beagle 3.5 x3
Reider 3 x3
Roussel 4x3.5
Total 10 mil
Jake 1.5
Sven 2.0
Stecher 1.8
Total .5.3
15.3 for 3 years 6 players
Sutter out 4.3 gone
Tanev gone 4.5
Hutton gone 2.8
MDZ gone 3.0
We will still be at 25 mil next year for cap space |

Ennis could be a really nice Vanek 2.0, but will have more tdl value if he produces |

Would rather see Bo and another skilled winger than a grinder imo. |

I don't think it's the actual contracts that have people riled up, I think it's the fact that there doesn't seem to be an actual plan in place by management. They seem to want to add just enough pieces to finish 23rd overall every year which is a recipe for a decade of mediocrity. Furthermore, there is absolutely no reason to give term on a contract to a bottom 6 forward. All that being said, I'm all for the Beagle signing if it means Sutter is being moved. |

We need players to play in those spots though, it's not like we have other options, the object is to not completely go into the toilet and ruin players like Boeser, Pettersson, OJ and Hughes. It's not like the contracts are untradeable or that the players targeted are scrubs, since we're not going to be competitive for a few years, term for bottom six forwards who aren't going to be part of the core moving forwards isn't going to hurt especially when we'll still have a lot of cap space to use and they'll come off the books when it's time to push for contender status. |

I do somewhat agree with this but only to a point. As of right now, there are only 2 players on the roster who are going to be on this team when it's good again and that's Horvat and Boeser. Everybody else (Pettersen, Hughes et al) is an unknown at this point. I do agree that the kids need to play with NHL players to develop but putting Pettersen or Dahlen with Jay Beagle or Brandon Sutter isn't going to help them and in fact could do more harm than good. Ask the Kevin Lowe era Oilers. |

I have to disagree about not having an actual plan , I think this is the best shape that Canucks have been in in years. This is also Travis Green hand picking these players not so much Jim.
We miss what Dorsett brought to the team and I feel Roussel can replace it. Whenever we played Dallas , two players always stood out to me , Benn and Roussel. |

I bet Pettersson plays with Rieder or a second line Center and not Sutter or Beagle

We'll need more than 5 goals out of Roussel though. |

Chances are he probably will score more than 5 goals but more importantly he needs to stir the pot. You will be signing him to do what you thought you were getting when you drafted Jake. |

This regime does draft well especially the last couple of years but they're total rubbish at asset management. They've held on to Tanev far too long and has made his worth on the open market far less than what it was. They hand out ridiculous contracts for plugs and have literally no idea on how to create a market for the assets they do have. Yes, as far as a plan goes, they're light years ahead of the last regime but they're woefully behind the curve as to what other teams are doing. Good god even Marc "Bargain Bin" Bergevin managed to make a forward thinking trade. |

Mind you bergervin trading subban/gally/sergechev for weber/domi/drouin and thinking about signing that woman beating POS voynov and signing Alnzer negates the "forward thinking" notion lol |

I would love if the canucks sign rieder. Its more in line with where they want to go as a team. Rieder has more upside and speed imo than the other players the canucks are currently linked to. |
