next year push for playoffs and addressing roster needs.

When I complained it was about signing two 32 year olds (not one) to a four year contract for 7.1 mil with full NMCs. I guess you pencil was broken that day Minivan.
- VANTEL

You have complained more then anyone about the Sedin's, Sbisa, Edler, Coaches, JB, TL, Torts, MG, ETC!

Hypocrite now and tell everyone to stop complaining.

Other people have a different opinion. They aren't complaining because they don't feel the same way as you.

Beagle isn't even that gritty lol, I think people here are assuming he's a Dorsett/Prust type but he's not. I mean he's not soft and he'll battle in front of the net and along the boards, but he's far from a tough guy.

The #Canucks did call the agent for F Patrick Maroon and D Nick Holden. The calls were put in to see where the market was for those players, tire kicking stage.

So just to patch it all together

Benning "we want to be faster and younger. We want to emphasize speed and skill"

Benning in free agency - targets Beagle, Reaves, Maroon..

Lol this team

You need balance too . Can't have all soft fast players. We could get Jake to play goal, he is pretty fast

3 years at 3M for a Beagle type at 33 years old is kinda ugly.

1-2yrs is max & a TDL flip in mind

So according to Elliot Friedman the other guy we are expected to sign along with Beagle is Reaves to round out our 4th line.

Don Cherry is going to love us.

- classic321

I'm just gonna look at the bright side, neither of these guys are going to command big deals and it means we're not paying 5M for Bozak or 4M for Nash lol.

Elliot Friedman just confirmed its most likely reaves. He just finished visiting with Van

Unless it's for a league Min. I'd rather have Lucic and his contract.

sounds like it's gonna be 3 years. Reaves will likely be 1 or 2 years.

Further to @TSNBobMcKenzie report that the #Canucks are frontrunners to land Jay Beagle.

Sources tell me that Beagle contract could look like 3 years and 2.5 million dollars per year.

Really? Do you think that extra year will affect EPs third year of ELC or Hughes third year?

If you want to really worry about a contract then start with Eriksson not a Gagner or a Beagle

- VANTEL

I see the LE contract a less of a hindrance in the big picture. The upcoming E-draft helps maybe along with his contract was front loaded & appeals to teams at the cap floor. As each year passes on our climb to respectability is in our favour. All said LE has this year & only this year to turn it around or he is the MAJOR screw up for JB most believe it to be.

That 3rd year though.
he'll be 35 years old at the start of his final year.

I can't for the life of me, figure out what he would bring to the team. Unless they are going to trade Sutter.

Reaves has been traded for a 1st round pick before and a 4th. That's better then some of the guys Van has signed.

i would find it odd if he signs for 3 years or more.

guys like him fetch good prices at the deadline. you guys should sign 3 beagles.

it's perceived soft players like vanek and gagner that get pennies.

- Tumbleweed

All to true. Ppl here see his stop gap signing as a negative but ignore we are nowhere near making any serious noise for 2-3 years minimum. Look at the 3-5yr plan as a reality instead of the next 2yrs.

I agree, that's why a 1 year contract would be nice
- NorthNuck

Ultimately yes but hard to pull off
