Personally want Reaves. Dudes a beast.
- Supirium99

Agreed. Would be a good add. He did score a pretty important goal in the playoffs.

I seen we invited Khaira to camp . The kid is raw bordering on bad . He does have size and is tough . Might be a good idea keep him close by and see if you can develop him. Not AHL worthy

Reportedly.....and Sportsnet has never bungled hockey news before. Still hearing that Tavares is Long Island bound. Can't reveal sources.

Negative. This team will be competitive within 2-3 years. Nikita is due to return after next season. His team will fold in the KHL, and he will come back rejuvenated.

I know most here want him to pick SJ, but I'd rather not have him inside the division. He's only 27 years old and a franchise center. Stay outside of the division please.

So I'm actually a fan of the Pacific division just as much as a fan of the Canucks?

SJ deserves it. They are a straight forward team. They haven't had to use gimmicks or shady dealings to try and get things done .

The other team uses it's star power and they haven't done jack sh1t in 50 years

But what is worse? Toronto being a proper cup contender, or SJS being a pain in our asses? I think we can survive SJS if they get tavares, but the Toronto fans coming in here on a regular basis will be intolerable.

Tavares won't push Sj over the hump to get back to the final.

Not sure why Toronto will spend all that cash on JT when they are years away from solving their defensive woes for playoff contention.

But whatever...it is what it is.

By the time the Canucks are good it won't matter, they've got about three more years to be competitive and then their decline will start. That's about time the Canucks will start to move forward with some push if all works out well with SOME of these kids.

I've always been in the minority here, I don't really care or get upset over who gets the most coverage on sportscenter or sportsnet's channels and websites. So I don't hate the leafs as a team as much as many here do.

It's not the end of the world if he signs in SJ, I'd just prefer if he signs in TO. I realize I'm in the minority here lol.

Tavares going to Toronto would be hilarious. Can you imagine how sour Lou will be...

This brings me back to the Shane Doan fiasco. Not comparable players but comparable situation possibly. Doan was on the edge of signing with Van everyone was told. Pressure was on the Yotes to settle ownership/building issues and make a positive move to the future or he walks. There was a deadline... it passed.... they didn't do what he requested... he signed there anyways.

To this day people still think we were the runner up in the Doan sweepstakes when in reality, Van was just leverage and the player was just bluffing. Comforting lies.

If they get JT it will likely push Matthews out and trading him will solve defensive issues?

Maybe I'm not remembering it clearly, but I don't believe Doan was actually every reportedly "on the edge of signing" with the Canucks. It was rumoured that he was down to choosing between the Canucks and Yotes and he eventually chose to stay where he was comfortable.

My hate for that city and it's fans is an entirely different animal than most of you BC born kids. I understand Sportsnet and media serving population based markets obviously. I'm rational about that kind of stuff. I don't fall for the group think on TO neither... just like most other things.

How did you arrive to this conclusion? Having a 1-2 punch down the middle that good is exactly what every team dreams of. Only Pittsburgh's duo would be better and those guys carried a d-group full of no names to a stanley cup.
