Then I assume a forward would be coming back? I'm not sold on the idea of Parayko, let alone ROR + for Parayko

And don't say Sobotka

- jcragcrumple

It doesn't matter what I say 😂 Botts is making the deal, if there is one.

It isn't Schwartz, as much as I'd like him.

Parayko makes no sense unless Botterill has another deal to move some d men for a winger. Risto, Dahlin, Scandella, Bogo, Nelson, Guhle, McCabe, Hunwick, Beaulieu

That's 9, and Parayko makes 10

- jcragcrumple

I think Parayko makes sense because the Sabres D still sucks and Parayko doesn't. Not doing something, anything, after bringing in Parayko to clear up the logjam of D-men not named Risto, Dahlin, and Guhle (Scandella, too, maybe) would make no sense.

Sure, with Borgen, Samuelson, Hickey, Guhle etc. pushing for a future top-4 spot. I still don't get the allure of Parayko. He's a less tough, worse skating version of Risto with a harder slapper
- jcragcrumple

Nice to have options to get a winger

Who gives a sh!t about the bolded?
That takes it down to 7
Guhle can start in the AHL, that’s 6

Parayko could be the perfect partner for Dahlin
U don’t let a numbers game of defensemen get in the way of that
Especially since so many are depth guys that we could do without

Would u really care if we sent down Beaulieu & Hunwick and someone claims them?

I wouldn’t

*If* someone offers you something remotely close to Taylor Hall for Ristolainen you take it
- sbroads24

Well that’s another story
Of course u move him for that if we have Parayko

Haven't put any thought into it. Like I said, I don't think RoR gets Parayko straight up, let alone ++. If they manage to win an RoR trade that big, then by all means I'd look into doubling down on a second move. A lot more teams would be interested in Risto, and that would really be a move you wouldn't feel compelled to make.
- Lunaion

I hear ya,
I’d just really LOVE the depth we’d have on defense with Ristolainen on pair 2
That would be a top4 that is Cup caliber

I just literally never hear buzz about the guy and suddenly everyone is licking their chops at the thought of him? I'm not sure at all. I'd rather trade ROR for someone who can put the puck in the net

Everyone thinks parayko++++ for o'reilly is happening. That seems like a pipe dream to me. Parayko for o'reilly straight up might happen. Adding kyrou or Thomas for McCabe is crazy. Sorry to burst bubbles I just don't see parayko and top prospects for a second line center and a 6th d man.
- Carubba-Kaleta

It seemed strange to me
But apparently StL has soured on Parayko after a rough season
And StL apparently wants ROR pretty bad

Probably wouldn’t just be ROR
The rumors have us adding McCabe

But who knows?
I guess we’ll see

Score less goals than they did last year. Defense doesn’t matter now they have Dahlin. They’re all set

I still think Risto has more trade value than RoR, and I'd love to be in a position to listen to offers.

All LH defensemen except Borgen,
who is at least 1 year away from playing here

And we don’t know how good he will eventually grow to be in the NHL,
which will take a couple more years

Be good??

I’m looking for something like:

Parayko and a 1st for ROR and McCabe as the two major pieces

Add a piece here and there to even it out.

You then have 3 firsts for the 2019 draft.

You have a ton of options in the off-season.

Could try to pluck a winger from a cap strapped team.

I think Risto is the guy a team would swap a very good forward for.

O’Reilly is the guy teams would offer a package of decent assets for

And of the rumors are true...
we could also be getting Fabbri,
who has 20 goal + potential
And maybe even another young forward

We won’t need a “Kessel” if we’ve got 3 LWs all capable of scoring 20+
