Anybody else think it was weird that Nylander tweeted to Sebastian Aho on draft day saying “see you soon” then quickly deleted it? Maybe ROR is dealt to St.Louis for prospects and picks. Then we turn around and flip Nylander and a pick for Skinner ? I’m probbaly overthinking this but something to spitball about I guess

They aren't telling Alex Nylander DAYS or weeks before that he's being flipped to Carolina. It's just not happening. He's probably friends with Aho and they're going to hang out after the camp.

The wrath of the league office. They'd consider it circumvention, and we've seen how they penalize that.

I don't think so, he's taking the risk of having a bad season/big injury. It's kind of scummy, but I think ultimately since he has something to lose, unlike with the hugely frontloaded contracts with $1M seasons at the end they'd give it the grudging ok and maybe some sort of a clause in the CBA, but really I don't think they'd go that far.

Of course everything goes out the window if they're intending to circumvent by agreeing ahead of time to the massive extension, which would be hard to prove.
