Just get our hopes up And crashed
Corey Pronman

He's a center with speed, skill, vision, who can make plays at both ends. This wasn't a season of highlights, this was a recent game I decided to skip through. Thomas is a true elite prospect

I'm being told that the reports of a trade being in place with any team on Ryan O'Reilly is "not accurate". Conversations continue to take place and multiple players have been discussed including Alex Nylander. However, "no framework has been agreed upon."

Gee Nylander maybe not being here, wow where did we hear that from.

Why are we trying to replace ROR with a center prospect??

Top priorities:
1LW
Top 4 D
Goalie

..in that order.

Paying Hutton 4 mill a year is foolish IMO, not saying it will happen but..............

Depends on the term. 1 or 2 years, whatever, but any more than that and WTF.

Well, if we are being honest I heard it first on WGR from Paul Hamilton.

Short term deal who cares. We have the cap space.

I am being honest, I said it a while back and Gerbe flipped out. I said it towards the end of this past season.

Doesn't matter, he played well for 30-35 games last year when Allen was having a hard time. He's not worth 4 mill cap space or not.

Term is more important that figure. Extreme example, but if you pay Hutton $8 million for only one year, it's much better than if you pay him $10 million over four years. The flexibility and the ability to get out from under the contract is far more valuable than the amount it's worth.

He is right, though. If it's a one year deal, it doesn't hurt you. That being said, they just refused to give Robin Lehner, who's younger, a $4 million qualifier. I doubt they give Hutton $4 million per for even two years.

I think they're different situations. The 6 year age gap being chief among them, Hutton is nothing more than a stop gap, where Lehner would be looking for term.

Dreger was just on the NHL Network and reiterated that the ask for ROR is a 1st, 2nd, and a top-end prospect.

If the Sabres make that bonus payment, that ask will go up. MTL will have no problem paying that though.

He also said that JT doesn't want this poop to drag on... so he should be signed by Sunday.

Also, if JT doesn't sign with the NYI by Saturday at midnight, he can only get a max 7 year deal from them.

No state tax in FL is also a huge plus in negotiating for the TBL, btw.

There's only a couple viable options on the UFA market. The 3 years bothers me more than the 4m. His numbers should come back down to normal this season.

I have a feeling whoever they end up going with is going to be underwhelming.

Unless there's someone coming back in a trade, I think you're right. Shorter the term, the better.

Does Montreal even have a top end prospect, besides the kid they just drafted?

Interesting to look at the tax rates for each city. Nashville, Tampa, Florida, Vegas, and Dallas are the best. The California teams + Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal are the worst. Most of the teams he picked are in one of those groups.
