Dunno if this was already posted or not, Luukkonen was taken 3rd overall in the import draft. This is pretty big for him and should give him some more time in net seeing as he wouldn't be the starter in the Finnish Elite League. Matej Pekar was taken 108th overall by Barrie.

That appears to be one long clip of Mitts making the rest look like idiots.

Rather have parayko then fabbri ( two knee problems ) and can never have to many defensemen that can actually play in the nhl.

I have not watched a lot of him live, but I've watched his highlights and I wasn't impressed. He has a hell of a clapper, and he's tough, but his skating looks rough. We just spent a whole draft addressing the future of the d, and we have Hickey, Pilut, Borgen already in the A, along with 9 NHL dmen. I wouldn't use our best trade chip for more D unless it was a Hamilton caliber, which I don't think Parayko is

If that was the change, I think we'd pull the trigger. There's a lot less risk when you're getting a quality defender, quality prospect and that 1st rounder. We can make things happen with that.
- RhinoFan

Parayko at 24 and RHD is perfect for the Sabres and could be the partner for Dahlin (assuming he plays left side) for years and years, if not a solid 3/4. While not a brut, at 6'6" 230 he can do some damage as well.
At the least, he may make Risto expendable to go after high-end offensive talent to help the O.

if Thomas continues on his development path, he's a solid C that could also make players like Erod, Asplund and Davidson available for additional flexibility.

I like this trade a lot.

I'm convinced Nylander will not be a top 6 player, maybe a 3rd liner...his perimeter play isn't what wins games in the NHL...fun to watch in Juniors, but doesn't translate ... unless some coach get's it in hi s head he needs to amp-up his compete and be willing to go into the dirty areas. Maye a shock of being included in a trade early in his career will help him.

Looks like it skips a second or two but it's not relevant since it's not Mitts in the beginning anyways.

It might be time to take the microphone away from Shannon, same guy who has said O'Reilly could maybe fetch a 2nd. Though he isn't wrong yet, I guess

Mark my words, especially Sabres could get nothing for O’Reilly and they would still be better.

He’s a selfish, detrimental player to have in a locker room. The next team will realize it too

I agree with all of that. Schwartz and Thomas are who I want. Some blues fans have soured on Parayko, and I'm not convinced he's really anything great. I'd rather take the chance on the higher upside Fabbri. Thomas and a first is good.

IDC about Nylander, so he can go

I just watched it on three different devices it jumps you can see it clearly and I just asked someone and they said it's just a bunch of Clips put together from start to finish

You mean to tell me he goes in back of the net and then jumps out into the middle without you see him skate

Right

Interesting...for as good as he was in the regular season and most of the Playoffs, he disappeared against The Caps, especially the last 3 games...no where to be seen.
The physicality got to him big time.

Still, I think with the annual Cap Increase the Lightning can squeeze Tavares in, but will somehow need to lose contract for older players that earn way too much.
would be a significant challenge...but I think you have to keep Kuch too.

You guys are crazy if you think we get Parayko and Thomas in the same trade for ROR/Nylander.

I can see it now ROR and McCabe for Fabbri, Sobotka, and a 2nd
Followed by the realization that we got more for a conditional midround pick than we got for ROR and McCabe
