How many 5 on 5 points does Jack have to rack up to justify his 10 million dollar contract this year? - PrinceChill
If jack doesn’t have at least 80 points (total)next season this place will be intolerable. (it’s damn near that now though)

I've thought about this quite a bit. The "leadership" question with him is over rated IMO. Not that it isn't real, just not such a huge deal. With that said, I think sending him to a team that already has a leader in place (Petro in STL) would do wonders for him. At both his stops, the "Leader" seemed to be in limbo and he thought that he had done enough, then not received the credit perhaps? Landy taking it from him in CO, then ECHL taking it here? Both younger then him, and wasn't really in place when he started. Just a thought. Send him to a place where he's not taking 60% d zone faceoffs, has legit wingers (Tarasanko), and a leader in place and he probably flourishes. This is at least how I'd sell it to DA. - SDSabre
This!
I have loved his game since he was drafted and think that joining a team with established leadership with allow him to flourish. In my opinion, he should be the captain of this team and should have been named as such last year regardless of whether or not he is more of a 3rd line center on a talented team or not. He would still get his ice time simply because he is the one you want taking defensive zone draws as well as penalty kill. Is he worth 7.5/yr for that? No but adding 60 point helps not that he'd do that in a 3rd line roll for sure. With that being said, this team needs a shake up and he is a very valuable piece that could hopefully net us something of need. Assuming our pipeline continues to progress, we should be fine at center very soon and moving his contract for players that can fill another roll, really may be the right call at the time. |

He didn’t make 10 mil this year. He was on his rookie deal.
Oh, and still more than O’Reilly in a lot less games |

I think it’s fair to have high expectations for a 10 million dollar a year player. He needs to bring a lot. |

ROR wants to be captain, displays no leadership(As described by his former coach), captain given to landeskog.
ROR pouts his way out of Colorado.
ROR traded to buffalo
Wants to be captain
Doesnt get captaincy
Stops his after ice practice sessions
Rumors off locker room issues
About to be traded off of buffalo.
All coincidental, I assume. - ImThatGuy
Yeah, you’re right...
it was O’Reilly’s fault that guys like:
Moulson, Griffith, Criscuolo, Tennyson, Redmond, Nolan, Josefson, Falk, Fedun, etc we’re playing NHL games
It’s was O’Reilly’s fault that he was playing with Scott Wilson as a winger
O’Reilly’s fault that Eichel had to play with Girgensons on his wing
Oreillys fault that Bogo got hurt again/stinks
O’Reilly’s fault that Gorges is, well Gorges
O’Reillys fault that Sam & Okposo has absolutely horrible 1st halves
O’Reillys fault that our goaltending SUCKED
IF ONLY HE’D HAVE BEEN A BETTER LEADER...
ALL OF THAT WOULDVE BEEN MAGICALLY FIXED
RIGHT? |

I was referring to this upcoming season. How many 5 on 5 points does Jack need to accumulate to justify his 10 million dollar 2018-2019 season price tag? |

Seems low. That puts him Reilly Smith range. 65-70, or more seems right for the price. |

Sure
I never claimed he was an MVP
Blaming us losing on ONE guy’s lack of leadership...
When the team had INARGUABLY many, many holes...
is beyond dumb
I’ll just use ONE of our holes to prove my point
ANYONE...
please explain how if O’Reilly was a better leader, that Lehner & Johnson would’ve made more saves?
I’ll wait |

I forgot who tweeted it earlier but I think it was Jeremy White, he said Lehner was also a pretty big issue in the locker room.
Very negative always yelling, throwing teammates under the bus and complaining - Shadman306
Sabres kept lehner to disrupt the lockerroom and continue to lose.
Now they are trying to win, and he's gone |
