Even if he ends up being the second coming we can always look back on players we passed up to get someone who wouldve fallen to us later in the draft - picklerick
Yeah, if he turns out to be Martin Brodeur, I am sure that we are going to care that we drafted him in the second round instead of the third round.

I agree with you, but if you look at the Atlantic, it's a bit of a different story. Four goalies drafted in first round and two in the Top 5: Luongo and Price, #4 and #5 overall respectively. Vasilevskiy at # 19 and Rask at #21 (or 22). - Pete V
What are the draft spots for the Atlantic? You’re going to have goalies that are top 5 “can’t miss” like Price Fleury etc, but after that I think you have just as good of a chance in rounds 3-7 as you do in rounds 1-2

Outside of the four above that were first rounders, I think Jimmy Howard was in the 60s somewhere, Craig Anderson in the 70s, and Fredic Andersson in the 70s.
And I am not sure if you have just a good of a chance drafting a goalie late. Even though there are very good goalies drafted late, you need to pick the right one. There are plenty of poopty goalies drafted late as well.
I still think it's true that the earlier you pick them, the higher the chances of hitting. There are just less goalies drafted early these days.
