My gut is nylander is going in the O'Reilly trade. Too convenient that (a) he's not skating this week, (b) gm Botts didn't draft him and (c) Botts doesn't mention him as one of his youth building blocks. If we do get Parayako, then maybe we do risto for a top winger, though I would be inclined to keep him and build through the d. My gut says O'Reilly, nylander and McCabe traded to STL....
- turbo044

It would all depend on who the winger would be.

I’d like to keep Risto too.

ROR and Risto for Schwartz and Parayko.

Not enough from Buffalo? Not enough from St Louis?

I never left

it was a good depth trade

- homiedclown

He was LW1 when the Pens won a Cup

Sheary doesn’t need to be Ovie or Kessel,
just needs to gel with Jack & score

A guy who can score more than 20 goals is better than a “depth” player Homie

Pretty much everyone is acting like ROR being traded is a foregone conclusion. Has anybody here considered the fact that he might be staying in Buffalo ? That'd be fine by me. If he stays, it sounds like there will be a LOT of disappointed people here.

So Sabres essentially get Sheary for 5.25 million per because the genius is forced to keep Hunwick on the team for two years? First time I ever saw that. High level asset management. Check mate.
- Hatboro_Swords

1) We aren’t forced to keep Hunwick, he can be bought out without penalty

2) even if we do trade him, a 3rd for a 20goals scorer is still GREAT value

3) better than any trade GMTM ever made

You’re not even winning at Checkers,

Why is GMJB forced to keep Hunwick for two years? And, Murray gave Moulson a 5 year 25 million dollar contract, so you have nothing to say about GMJB.

Don’t think anyone thinks he’s a savior. He’s a good player that didn’t cost much. He will help the team. It would be a move if another team did I would be wishing we were in on it.

It’s not HH. HH hates Murray because he fired Ted Nolan

We got a 20-goal scorer for the same price as the privilege to talk to Jimmy Vesey.

Holy S, Sheary and Hunwick are both American? Botts has to be a Trump supporter the way he is putting a tariff on Canadian players. I’m liking him Moreno and Moreno every day.

Still undefeated on this board

- Hatboro_Swords

If by undefeated u mean “troll who’s almost never right”

Botts traded for Beaulieu and Wilson last year- they are both Canadian

Schooled again sucka

Hamster thinks something is up with that. Apparently he didn’t even make it on the roster sheets they were handing out at the game? Was apart of the Dahlin jersey unveilingon Monday and people weren’t saying much about what was wrong with him.

he is a good player on the pens

we are not the pens

if he plays 80 games and goes 15 goals 15 assists, I would not be surprised

I got you and 2 others on my a$$ because all I am saying

1. he played less then 12 minutes in the playoffs this year

2. he is a decent contract on a team with cap issues

3. why are the pens giving up on him?

the answer is to free up enough money to sign someone better

I like him more then any winger we had on the roster last season not named reinhart but I am having realistic expectations

others assume he will get 20 goals and we will have to give up a 3rd

this team was not good at scoring goals last year, so I take nothing for granted

Even if that’s all he does...
that’s still good value for a 4th round pick

And if he plays in the top6 & gets 20goals,
a 3rd is still great value

Hunwick is not useless, as some may have alluded to.

He has great mobility, and has over 500 games in this league. Botts likes his leadership, which we are in dire need of. Don't sleep on his potential impact here. Is he an every day player? Probably not, and he has had some injuries along the way, but he's a professional, and somehow manages to stick around the league, and there's something to be said for that.
