If Sheary gets 20 goals or 40 points, it turns into a 3rd

Very doable. He had 18 goals this year on a down season.

now that we have some cap space, whats the highest $ / term you would give Mike Green?

I think $3.5 for 3 years is as high as I would go....I'm sure someone will give him more but to me, all we need is a bottom pair, RHD.

I'd rather spend the money on a 2nd-3rd line LW

- YouMeAndDupuis9

He're hoping that there's not too much interest in Mike Green this summer and we can get him for real cheap/

Also, if Hunwick gets traded before the 19 draft, it turns into a 3rd.

Does he have a good attitude? Is he soft? Can he carry the puck/ Can he win one on one battles?

One of the okayest of players of all time

Top 6 player on a bad team, will do nothing at all in the bottom 6 so good teams look for better/cheaper options with more upside on those lines

Had a nice stretch once playing with one of the best players of all time and another great young player (Guentzel) but the magic didn't last

Attitude? He won't be happy once he finds out he's on Buffalo

Soft? Pudding Soft....

Puck? Carries it for a while then inexplicably falls down for no reason

Battles?

He puts himself in good postion, he flubs some shots, he falls over A LOT. He won't play physical but he'll make good passes and find openings on the ice. His advanced metrics are really solid, should be good for 15-20 goals, maybe 40ish points. It'd be best to play him with a skilled center, so... Eichel would be my choice if you want him to hit his ceiling.

Good attitude? Sure.

Soft? Yeah, he's a midget.

Can he carry the puck? He falls over a lot?

Can he win one on one battles? Nah. He's the kinda guy who's gonna look for soft spots on the ice to get a shot off. He might flub a lot of those shots, but he puts himself in good position.

I would actually disagree. At his best, Sheary is pretty tenacious on the forecheck and working a cycle. Not with physicality of course, but he was pretty adept at using his quickness for prolonged offensive cycles.

I liked Sheary a lot. IMO this will look like a bad or good move depending on how they utilize this cap space.

I’d wait to see the next step before saying that. Moving unpopular players can be made worse by adding players who would be more unpopular.

If geno-sprong and brass-kessel develop some chemistry and the 4th line doesn't include Kuhnhackl/Rowney/Simon should be plenty of depth scoring to go around

Theoretically, what would we offer for Skinner? Jarry/Hags/2nd? I don't see the need for it but that lineup would be.... something

Skinn - Sid - Horn
Jake - Geno - Sprong
Rust - Brass - Kessel
Kunitz - Sheahan - Duclair

Yeah I mean its all about the cap space. I'm really good with this move right now, but if we piss away the cap space on like Johnson and a Kunitz overpayment I'll be pretty pissed about it.

Sign Sheahan, give Oleksiak a bridge contract at around $1.5 million, and put that $6 or so mil of remaining cap space to good use by either signing JVR or low balling Green and bringing back Kunitz on a vet minimum.

The problem with Sheary is that he is an extremist version of inconsistency.

He will play like a superstar for 3 weeks and put up 14 points in 8 game, and then suddenly looks like a 4th line bum for the next 3 weeks and puts up 1 assist in 8 games.

You just have to hope that he is in phase 1 when you are fighting it out in the playoffs.

He reminds me of a goalie, but as a skater. Hot cold hot cold hot cold.
