NHL experience is overrated. If you can play, you can play. The league is getting younger. If I told you Vegas with W.Karlsson, Cody Eakin, and whoever down the middle we’re going to go to the WCF I would of asked who your dealer was. How about Shea Theodore as a #1 d-man with minimal experience ? Alex Tuch did pretty well this year as well. If the kid can play, he can play. How did McDonagh, Girardi and their 20 plus years of NHL experience help the lightning this year ?

If we did end up trading ROR for say... Schwartz..

Then we turned around and dealt Risto to EDM... what would people's opinions be on bringing Nuge back to be our 2C for a year or two until he switches with Casey. Granted Nuge wouldn't be the MAIN piece but maybe like a 2nd that becomes a 1st if Risto hits X pts or EDM makes the playoffs plus a decent prospect.

Nuge is only on a 3x6M now.

I still think we regret making that hole on our RHD.

I'm starting to get to this mindset...

VGK this year...

Toronto playing their kids has 2 straight playoffs too plus some good vets but still.

EDM was in the WCF then missed all together last year.

Even Ottawa played quite a few kids in the year they went to the ECF.

While I'd love this, he's basically their only scoring LWer.

This is why if i'm JB i don't trade Risto for anything less than a Top 6 winger and a 1st. I don't care if that's an unreasonably high ask for Risto. We'd be giving up a sure-fire partner for Dahlin, and a guy who can play top line minutes. Those kind of defensemen don't grow on trees.

Plus...as i've said about a billion times on here...we don't really know what we have in Risto because he's never been put in a position to succeed.

I’m not saying that we should field a team of kids, or that veterans aren’t important to have. But imo you put the best 18 skaters you have on the ice regardless of if they are a rookie or a 10 year vet.

OK I'm going crazy now that my favorite BBQ joint has closed (Kentucky Greg's). Anybody know of any hidden gems out there ? I'm in Cheektowaga, and I'm old and cranky, so I don't want to drive far to get good BBQ. Smokey Bones sucks. Richardey's sucks. Fat Bob's ...don't feel like going to the city for BBQ. Smoke on the Water in Tonawanda ? Too far. Anything in Amherst, Williamsville area ? Been to Smokin' Little Diner in Depew....not bad, but still not what I'm looking for. God I miss Kentucky Greg's !!!

Amerks re-signed Adam Wilcox to hold the fort down with JJ. And now we need an NHL equivalent.

There's a place in Lewiston that's decent. I think it's called the smoke house. I know you don't wanna go downtown, but fat Bob's really is the best imo. The mashed potatoes are amazing. And the Mac and cheese.
