UM do you listen to WGR at all?

a majority (Not me) of the fan base expects massive improvement next year.

- ImThatGuy

I do not, I like to save my brain cells.

Sounds to me like the majority of the fan base doesn't watch the games or doesn't understand what it takes to be a good team in todays NHL

Year 6 or 7. But it was done incorrectly the first time. Now it is being done the correct way... which is build for the future. We are not a piece or two away. We need to build long term with the core players we have.
- CoHo_to_B-Lo

I'm not denying it was. Murray royally F)*^ this up.

The average fan does not care about that anymore. Botterill has a very short window with a lot of people. That window starts with improvement next year.

If this team finishes bottom 3 again, people are going to go insane.

We're adding two new high-end talents in Mitts and Dahlin, plus whatever in FA, and a new goalie. There are a ton of question marks, yes, but I expect them to be more competitive. A .915 season from Ullmark, Mitts and Dahlin both as ROTY candidates, and an upgrade in production from an Erod/Fa winger, and a 85-90 point season from Jack should have us at least as bubble team.

That's a lot of ifs

This is the best case scenario. But i am not getting my hopes up.

Yup that was the first time. Then Murray set us back and it started all over with Botts coming in. People think we are going to be good this year? That really blows my mind.

If any season ticket holder that actually pays attention to the game thinks we are going to be good this year tell them i have some ocean front property in Clarence for sale.
- CoHo_to_B-Lo

Horrible Analysis.

Say that in October when we know who is on the roster. Not June 26th before free agency opens.

We’re going to be a lottery team regardless next year who cares we have to build for the future
- gerbe75pts

I cant take you seriously when you say stuff like this.

A lot of people care.

Botterill needs to do both at the same time, which is nearly impossible.

This team cant finish bottom 3.

Last year was the first year I just didn't care to watch games, I don't want to go through that again.

My father in law couldn't give away his season tickets like many others who bank on selling a few games to help with season ticket cost. you are going to have a lot of pissed off people if this team finishes bottom 3 again.

Because the Sabres are going to make a big splash in FA? That worked in the last rebuild brilliantly.....

I agree with all of this... but we all know how it is to sit at the bottom. It sucks. You are right the games are unwatchable and i did not even want to take my son to the games last year. But i would rather sit through this for another year and enjoy the benefits of a great team for the next ten years, rather than rush it and be mediocre for a couple years and then back in this situation.

Whoever said this earlier is 100% correct.

The real fans who understand the process and what GMTM did wrong will stick around.

We might lose some bandwagon fans for a year or two while a correct rebuild happens but they will be right back at it when the rebuild takes off.

So - we can rush the rebuild make a big jump next year to get 1-2 years of bangwagon revenue

or

rebuild the right way lose some bandwagon revenue and then rake it in for the following 8 years of a young contending team

We're adding the "McDavid of defensemen" and Mittelstadt and you give us such little chance for improvement. Not to mention new goaltending.

Be negative when you get older. Cockeyed optimism!

Then you sign Bernier and Neal and all the sudden things are looking a bit better.

A good winger or two and strong goaltending makes us a bubble team next year.

I speak the truth

Who was the one in the summer that said this team would be in the bottom once again (2017)

Who said we be in top 5 at the end of year in (2016)

This team is not close to contending we need to add more players and build up the new core stop these quick fix bs it Will only have us back here in two years with the same problems

Why? So then in 3 years when we have to pay all these guys we have a team full of nasty contracts?

I'm saying a majority of the fan base is tired of losing this much. I dont know how you arn't

Whether you can see that or not is not my problem.

Never did i say this needs to be rushed, but i have to remember i am talking to you and you have a hard time understanding things.

Fans who are shelling out good money don't want to go watch a 25 win team. if this team does not improve next year many are going to walk away. It has been 7 years of this.

People are already questioning the Pegulas, if they finish bottom 3 again, it means zero progress has been made in 6 years.

Also F)(*^ you with your "Real fan bullpoop".

No one is saying rush the rebuild, holy Sh!t.

We all know Tim Murray F)(*^ up. That was two years ago. We just brought in one of the best prospects in years.

I'm saying if the Sabres finish bottom 3 again, in the last 8 years they have show zero signs of improvement, zero sign of a direction that is going to work. FAns will not stand for that.

how does nobody see this?

No one said anything about contacts. I am talking about players that fit.

Who knows what the contracts will look. If they make sense do it.

Why would you assume we would sign players to bad contracts? Does GMJB have a history of doing that?

It's pretty cool that we added all this to our very sad D prospect cupboard in just the past month. yes, Dahlin is a prospect today.

Samuelsson
Dahlin
Hickey
Pilut
Kukkonen
Kronholm
Worge Kreü

I assume next year will be all LWers
