So, Artemi wants to play in either Florida, LA or New York?

Buffalo is in New York. 😉

OK I'm going crazy now that my favorite BBQ joint has closed (Kentucky Greg's). Anybody know of any hidden gems out there ? I'm in Cheektowaga, and I'm old and cranky, so I don't want to drive far to get good BBQ. Smokey Bones sucks. Richardey's sucks. Fat Bob's ...don't feel like going to the city for BBQ. Smoke on the Water in Tonawanda ? Too far. Anything in Amherst, Williamsville area ? Been to Smokin' Little Diner in Depew....not bad, but still not what I'm looking for. God I miss Kentucky Greg's !!!

In Clarence, smoke fire and spice. They only do sandwiches on weekends, amazing.

Also in Clarence on county rd, Wild bills hickory bbq. Just a dude that smokes meat In a stand, again great sandwiches. When they are gone they are gone. He is wild bill for a reason, like the soup nazi on Seinfeld.

In Lewiston they have brickyard bbq, food has gone down in quality but still good. Opened a brewery.

Best in area in Tonawanda along the river is Suzie Qs. Get the pulled pork and smoked turkey. Add pane rolls on side for sammies.

Fat bobs is trash compared to these. Oversmoke their meat.

My kamado joe crushes them all. I’m fattony for a reason. I know food.

That’s up to the people using/reading them.

You’re kind of painting all stats with this broad brush that I don’t think is very fair.

The players we perceive as “good” are granted these excuses, but the players we are biased to say are bad are not.

For example you wouldn’t spend 1/10 of the time you do explaining away Girgensons stats as you do Risto’s.

- sbroads24

And that's the problem. It's what makes them no better than the eye-test, because they can (almost)always be explained away, hence the Disraeli quote.

Honestly I think Girgensons gets a bad rap. He doesn't fall nearly as much as people say he does. The thing with Girgensons is he doesn't produce when put with talent, Ristolainen does.

Gerbe, St. Louis isn’t giving us Schwartz for O’Reilly. That doesn’t help them, they will want to win now and trading there best LW does not get them there.

Side note, my thoughts of patches and two seconds seemed spot on. Seemed like jbotts was gonna do that while turning patches into a pick like i said he would. #insider.

I live in Clarence and can vouch for Wild Bill's. Just awesome.

Are there any reports about Fabbri's, was it, knee?

I could deal with Fabbri, Berglund and one of their D men.

I don’t disagree, but my point is this -

Player A is Ristolainen
Player B is say Oscar Klefbom

You watch Ristolainen every game. Ristolainen puts up bad numbers, your eyes tell you that you can explain them away by either coaching/strategy etc.

If Klefbom has bad numbers, you have no allegiance, or haven’t watched him enough to do the same.

The best but not perfect way to compare the two are through the numbers

if you stink somewhere else, you are more appealing then if you are average on a bad team here

That's a bad example, I like Klefbom.

Depending on the definition of “overpayment”, I’d take it to get out from ROR’s contract. And to put to bed the constant complaining of everything he does. I like ROR a lot, but this whole fan base is too far past the point of no return from this guy. Let’s find someone else to pin the totality of the team’s struggles on.

That's not true. A lot of people like him and his game. 80% of this board is over him, but that's not indicative of the fan base at large, both anecdotally with those I know, and based on informal WGR polls.

I don't really care anymore. I'm resigned to the fact that he's probably gone
