Opps I forgot about the goalies. So Weise, Neuvirth, Elliott.. Lyubimov? Medvedev?

It's funny how Hextall's best FA signing was Bellemare who we left unprotected.

- bmoreflyer

Didn't he sign Del Zotto? I'd say that was probably his best FA signing.

Neuvirth and Elliott were both good signings. You have to take into account there was very little cap space to work with. Neuvirth's first season here was .924 in 32 regular season games and .981 in 3 playoff games, and he only had a $1.625m cap hit.

Sure I have a point. My point is simple. He does not need to gain 8-10 lbs. You don't know what the percentage of people in the Flyers organization think, to that's irrelevant. What percentage of posters think he does is also irrelevant. Not you're making fallacy arguments to try and support your point. That's a failure. You definitely are bent out of shape or you wouldn't have made it into the big deal that you have. Your statement was a bad one. I pointed it out. End of story. Not a big deal. Time ot move on.
- MJL

and there is your go to move, end of story, move on, blah blah blah.

Everything we write is our guess or our opinion so my guess at most, if not all, think Frost should gain weight is valid. In fact numerous posts from other posters have stated he should, that supports my position. In fact Bill who talks with the Flyers said Frost should try to put on weight. I have not seen a single post that said he should not try to gain weight or go on a diet. Want to bet there are articles quoting Flyers management that Frost should put on weight? Am I going to fast, want me to slow down?

Again when I wrote "Frost needs to put on 8-10 pounds" it wasn't to say Frost wasn't good as is, you made into that ...

i know it is the slow time of the year but pick a fight you can win.

Very true, I guess the Homer in me just wants to go all in for Tavares now that we have the cap space. You know how he would do it. He would throw some offer sheets around, drop ten year contract bombs, trade the team captain. Good ol homer. (slight sarcasm implied)

This may be an unpopular opinion (perhaps not) but I much rather give a long look to NAK or Voroybov than consider Frost for a roster spot.
- arichardson22

...Sure, they're fine. They both weight more that Frost.

Kidding aside, all the talk about Frost is because his overall talent should be much more than NAK and Voro. You don't want to rush somebody in, but you want to bring them up when they are ready - which isn't set in stone. Some guys are drafted and go straight to the NHL, most weight a couple years, and others need a long time to "bloom" (defenceman and goalies).

How much will people be crying "bust" if Frost puts up less points than last year? Katchouk and Raddysh will both be moving on, and there aren't really any other sniping wingers coming up in the Sioux. I'm not saying they carried him, but he'll certainly be playing with lesser linemates.

Bill has said many times that his ppg actually went up during the time those players were in the WJC and Frost was on his own

The smart move is to not engage in the first place, it’s an utter waste of time.

and their coach and goalie...they were a stacked team. my point was that he wasn't riding them to success. he was a major reason for it. i wouldn't be surprised if he got traded tbh
- YuenglingJagr

Truth

He's established himself as a stud who carries play and produces quality future NHL linemates or not.

If there is something to look for in terms of improvement it would be to carry on his standard production through the end of the season. He went through a bit of a dip this previous season at the tail end.

can we get a rolling eyes emoji on here? the deal is for 700K a year. They obviously are basing the deal on the 2 healthy seasons where he showed progress over the one injury plagued season where he really should have made the team. if he plays the way they expect 700K for the next 3 seasons is a steal. if not then he is simply sent to the Phantoms with no cap ramifications and is a highly paid AHLer. Do you just look for things to complain about or most likely look to push buttons for a reaction like this?
- nastyflyergirl

It's a great deal but pretty sure he has to clear waivers on his next contract, so it'll be interesting to see how they manage that

From 31 Thoughts
“27. Selke finalist Sean Couturier had a great line about Game 6 versus Pittsburgh. It’s not exactly a pleasant memory, since the Flyers were eliminated, but he had five points despite a torn MCL. When teammates were finally able to joke about it, Couturier said they told him his performance wasn’t that good, “because you really weren’t hurt, were you?”

He needs to add muscles that = weight but only if it has a negative velocity differential multiplied by PI or PIE I prefer coconut banana cream pie.
