You know the crazy thing, if Zadina slipped to 9 in the draft, I don't think the Rangers would have drafted him. I think they still would have went to Kravtsov. And then the board really would have exploded. - Pete V

Elliotte Friedman’s 31 Thoughts has one tangential mention for the Rangers:
Draft rumblings were that Artemi Panarin’s preferences (in no particular order) are Los Angeles, New York and Florida.

I agree, reports were that they thought Kravtsov was the second best forward in the draft behind Svechnikov.
It is kinda strange that they haven't drafted Canadian players with their high picks recently. Seems it's always a European player. - TheMessiah94
I’m all over this Canadian thing. The last guy that made any sort of impact, in any rd really, is delzotto. Duclair eh. They have something against Canadian kids and I find utterly absurd. They have no variety in these drafts whatsoever. Euros and Americans with sprinkle of Russian is where they go

See drafting the Russian kid is already paying dividends.

If you believe Brooks, trading one of Zibby or Hayes is something they are looking at. If they were to make such a trade, what would that deal look like? Is that where they get a winger?
Despite rumors of him this past weekend possibly considering to retire due to wear and tear, as well as past concussions, Aaron Portzline reports that Rick Nash's first choice for destination is back with Columbus, and that he is seeking a multi year deal, possibly between $4M to $5M annually.

Tj the 4 years they didn't have a 1st rounder they picked 15 NA's and 9 from the rest of the world. The best player from that group is Buch, a Russian
