If Duclair isn’t qualified any downside to bringing him back and hoping he turns it around? He had a good year with AZ that one year, only 23 years old in August. - nyrangers9479

I mean yeah, it won't hurt to sign him I would rather see someone in the organization probably get that spot though. imo - mdw7413
Ya I get it. I just think with the need to add depth on the wings and Zucc Spooner Nam likely traded, I don’t see how it could hurt. Don’t see anyone it would block from coming up and worst case he’s gone next year. At 23 I’d be willing to take the gamble and hope he turns it around.
Kreider Zib Buch
Duclair Hayes Vesey
Andersson Chytil Fast
Beleskey Boo Reaves
Gettinger Ronning Letteri are our next 3 best wingers I would guess? (Not including Kravtsov)

If Nams value is so low, because he’s “garbage”, why would you trade him now? It’s like you can’t even stand to look at the guy Jesus Christ he’s not the worst player ever to lace up skates like you portray, holy smokes. If they were gonna deal him I think it wouldve been at the draft.
And I’m not sure why you wanna trade Spooner, he was actually pretty terrific after the TDL
Zucc does have some value, but seems like he made it through the purge |

But what’s the harm at signing him to a show me contract at 23 years old? - nyrangers9479
Just a(nother) hole in the line up.
Watching makes me feel like he has shown us all he will. Too bad, he looked like a star when we got him. |

Here’s a thought on Nam... since they drafted Kravtsov, a Russian, wouldn’t it be wise to have as many Russians nearby to show him the ropes? It was stated that was an important thing to do at one of the recent pressers (molding the kids) and by all accounts Nam is a good guy to look up to in that way. That was a point made by someone when he was acquired, i forget who tho. I don’t get that sense from Buchnevich, being a mentor of sorts. After all Kravtsov is only the future of the franchise at the age of 18, and probably doesn’t speak a lick of english...but what do I know
Also with all the other Russians on the horizon, it may make sense to keep him around during this rebuild. |

Zucc bc of his age, Nam and Spooner bc I don’t think they’re part of the long term plans. So U don’t think we’re making any trades bc we didn’t trade them at the draft? Interesting. I like Spooner and said he wasn’t just a toss in that he was a good player and surprised we got him in the deal, it was likely to take Beleskey back. |

Lol. The only one likely to trade all of those guys is you!! Nam or Spooner, sure, although I would to see Spoon on a wing for the season. And I’d happily forego whatever return Zucc could bring to have him be one of the guys these kids learn to be pros from.
Also, that is a horrible line up you are icing there! |

Tavares would be an idiot to leave the Isles now, that being said I'm praying to Tom's god of Allah that this happens - KreiderBomb
There is no justice in the World. He'll go back to the Isles and have nice career while being propped up by Barzal, Beauvillier, Eberle, Bellows, Wahlstrom and Dobson. |

We’re trying to compete this year? Or be mediocre and pick 8-15 again? Or is the goal to see what we have in the kids and try and be in the top 5-6 for the draft? Bc if we’re trying to put a good team on the ice sign JVR, keep Zucc and try and make a trade for a RHD. If not, I think the goal isn’t to ice a good team this year. I’d love to keep Zucc, maybe trade him at the deadline and re-sign him the following year? |

Depends on how long this “rebuild” is going to last.
In Brooksie’s column this morning, Gorton talks adding “a few vets” to help teach the young kids the ropes. I think it’s fair to say, they have no intentions of making a playoff run, so it could be a long year.
But, teams with little or no expections somehow always seem to surprise. Hopefully, that’s the case. |

2005-2006 had no expectations and it was a season out of nowhere, of course we had Jagr and that was a big help |
