JT would be great but if not, flip off and go after Stastny. Forget Bozak and forget Thornton.
If you can't land a center ok fine, try and get Skinner then and move Nylander to center and bring Skinner in for the wing.
Still need to figure something out on defence too, though not adverse to adding Orpik on a one year cheaper deal to shore up the 5-6 with a stay at home physical vet. Upgraded Polak role really. |

Not a fan of adding Stastny at all, he will be getting $$$. |

And JT isn't??
Better than Bozak last season. More goals and assists, and a better FOW% too. |

Stastny had 52 points at 32. Tavares had 84 at 27. Not a good comparison. |

I'd say the vast majority are ready to move on from Bozak, unwilling to sign that age/production long term at this point, also not a good selling point for your Stastny argument. |

Did you just say trade nylander for riostolanein? and we have to add?
No thanks - burn
The future of he NHL lies with Rasmi. Sabres just drafted Rasmus Dahlin. They may be willing to give up Rasmus Ristolainen. Together with Rasmus Sandin, those two Rasmi could be a potent pairing, that pulls Rasmus Dahlin to the team, and complete the defensive Rasmus trifecta. |

The news that Tavares is meeting with the Bruins might be good for the Leafs. Means his camp is just trying to get them to pony up on the sponsorships. |

Lies. I'm fairly confident this has never happened, let alone twice in the last several years.
I know the Leafs didn't win the cup, but can't seem to remember why not. Probably they were too good for the cup. Now that we're likely losing JVR and teh Bozek, we should be slightly less good, so they will be willing to win. |

How many 1st round picks does it take to pry Tanev out of Vancouver? I’ll willing to go as high as all. |

Yeah, we'll see what Dubust does to upgrade.
Maybe we'll get some improvement from within by some of our prospects, but I'm not sure who would be ready by next year, and even if someone like Liljegren or Sandin make the team, you can't pin all your hopes on a rookie to carry your defense. |

Adding forward assets for nothing but cap helps that. Especially when that forward is a possession beast like Tavares. |

Who cares what you think? What’s important is what UG thinks. If he likes him, then don’t trade for him. - Steven_Seagull
I'll speak on that idiots behalf. He really really likes Faulk. |

Trade Bill Ny for Ristolainen.
What a terrible idea that is. |

About what?
In the past ten seasons the Canucks have won 30 games in the playoffs, how many do the Leafs have
Edit: I just checked, the Leafs have won 8 games in the playoffs over the past ten seasons. |

Hate to break it to you, but it doesn't work like that. Taxes are based on residency, not the address from which you get paid. PLUS, even if it did work that way, the NHL is based in New York, which has very high taxes so this would be very bad for the players. - TrashPanda
Actually taxes are partially residency and also where you earn the income. Players get paid in the state they played in. It's why some states have an "entertainment" tax for athletes and performers, etc. |

The love for Kapanen together with the readiness to trade Willie for whatever is so Joe From The Bridge Leaf fan insanity. I can't wait till Dubas locks up Nylander so I don't have to read this stuff anymore. And I like Kap, but c'mon... |

Bottom line, teams located in cities that have no state tax can offer their players more net income. End of story. The fact that people are still trying to deny this is incredible. |

If the Leafs miraculously sign Tavares, Nylander is on the block for help on D immediately. The Leafs need a legit #1 D (at least another top pairing D) and Nylander is the ticket to get that. Maybe you'd keep Nylander for 1 more year to inflate his numbers by playing beside Tavares, but sooner or later, you'd move Nylander to get help on D to balance the team.
If you look at is as: Nylander for Tavares + #1 D, it's a no-brainer. |
