As previously reported, Jason Zucker, Nino Niederreiter and Charlie Coyle are three forwards Fenton has discussed with multiple teams. He’s trying to attach Tyler Ennis, who has another year left on his contract at $4.6 million, to most trade conversations so he doesn’t have to buy him out by Saturday’s first window deadline.
The Wild would get a second buyout window later this summer if one of their restricted free agents — Zucker, Matt Dumba or Nick Seeler — filed for arbitration by the July 5 deadline.
The Athletic has also learned from multiple sources that Fenton recently requested updated no-trade lists from center Eric Staal, defenseman Jared Spurgeon and goaltender Devan Dubnyk.
Staal and Spurgeon submitted 10 teams that they can’t be traded to and Dubnyk submitted 11. |
