There are plenty of wealthy folk in Florida - most states have wealthy people. If you want to talk about a wealthy State though - Florida is not even in the conversation. If California was a country, it would be the 5th wealthiest country in the world. It's not even close!

There are nice gated communities in every major cities......Florida has warm weather all year long. That is what attracts some people. It really depends on what you value the most. Each person is different.

Summer in Florida sucks, part of the winter in Tampa isnt all that great either.
Now if you are talking about the Keys that is a different story, for winter anyways.
But the summer still sucks.
