He'd be the perfect partner for Rielly.

The second he leaves, the Caps win the Cup. Coincidence?

No need to trade him, he will be long retired before that happens.

Things are a little sloooooow in the office right now, so I ducked into a bar restaurant for a burger and a beer - and watch a little World Cup.

There is a couple of tables of Iran supporters. They were going out of their minds - screaming every time Iran touched the ball.

Sadly, they lost their moxie with the Portugal goal.

For a while, they were very entertaining.

His contract runs for 8 more years ( to age 41), last four years have a salary of $3M, $1M, $1M and $1M. If he retires when his salary drops, Nashville gets full cap hit to the end of the contract.

Having good taxes is great, it means they have poop laws somewhere else in their system...it all evens out.

If it didn't Florida would be one of the best places to live. However it's not, far from it.

So you drop it.

Depends how much money you have. Guess you never figured out why all the rich guys from New York retire in Florida.

In a really weird sort of way, that contract has huuuuuuge value.

At a certain point, Nashville has to get him back to send him to Robidas Island. I’m on mobile, so can’t pull the #s up, but they are seriously franked if he retires early.

Get Weber now, trade him to Nashville in 4 years for 3 1sts.

Warm weather? Sure some people are into that, some aren't.

Kinda why not every single person retires in Florida

He's still very good. $7.8 million to age 41 though? I wouldn't, unless you could convince him to start wearing Hossa's jock strap in 3-4 years?

When you retire, state income taxes become less of a factor, not more.

This is true, I guess I'm a bit naive. Never thought that a contract could be such an excellent blackmailing tool.

The Blackhawks have not tendered a qualifying offer to RFA Anthony Duclair yet. They have until 4 pm, but indications are they're going to let Duclair, Tomas Jurco and Michael Chaput become UFAs.

That wasn't the point if you read what I replied to. He said Florida isn't a nice place to live yet the reality is there's plenty of rich people who live in Florida and the weather isn't the only reason.

I said it's far from the best place to live, which a lot of people would agree...plenty of places in this world ranks ahead of Florida
