Given his situation you would think coming to the Leafs would be a no-brainer. Stamkos was different because the bolts were a good team. I think the islanders are years away.

I don't think he remains an Islander. The team has told him year after year they would be competitive and they never really did it for him. The ONLY thing they have on their side really is the fact he's apparently super loyal. They have no goalie and I don't think they have one in the system coming soon. Ladd isn't the answer, Eberle and Barzal are good pieces but the defense isn't much.

I think you have to give them a qualifying offer or they end up as free agents July 1. Isn't that what happened to Chicago? Barker, Byfuglien and someone else weren't tendered those offers and they went to free agency.

Unfortunately it does not seem like there is any magic there. I would wonder if there is some corrupted app-specific cache going. Honestly, the most reasonable suggestion is backup and factory reset the phone.

Before trying anything, have you deleted the app and tried downloading it again?

I actually didn't think they were a lottery team. I had them as a playoff bubble team TBH. But yeah, your point still stands, they definitely surprised.

i think their defense was ok last year...injuries really hurt them. but boychuk is getting older and de hann may walk. it's looking shakier.

Washington gave the isles a big FU on grubuar...not wanting to trade him there to help them out. i would think lou needs to make a move for hutton's rights and gets a deal done quickly.

they're going nowhere without better goaltending.

Hutton is still a risk though. Maybe they try to trade for Howard but I would have thought one of their first rounders on Friday would have landed them a decent starter.

Now the choices are what? Hutton? Lehner? Maybe trading for Anderson, Talbot, Howard, Mason?

None of which scream "We are a contender".

Side note: The deal for Grubauer Sakic made was a steal in my books.
