Okay I just looked at drafts 2010 - 2017

And there is maybe a total of 20 players in the European leagues that have contributed to the NHL

Then you have over 400 players from the CHL contributing and that's in the later rounds

So

So what

I mentioned this earlier, but is there any way to do that without skipping two years of drafts?

Teams would never agree to that, because you'd have 2 seasons of teams finishing in last and getting nothing

- jcragcrumple

You could do it over the course of a few years, move the birth month 6 months later. There's really no "fair" way to do it. Some teams will get shafted.

Any offer made that u know of?
- rinaldo

No, it was mostly the Blues and the Habs, but there was no way the Habs were giving up the 3rd overall for ROR. That was never going to happen.

So you just totally made those numbers up. There's no way you took that raw data and organized and compiled it from that source in 3 minutes to come up with "400 players taken in the 3rd or later"

You're throwing poop at the wall and seeing if someone will actually do your leg work to prove you wrong

If you're actually interested in this stuff, you should actually do the research. It would be very interesting to everyone here if you did a deep dive

I knew those years were suspect. 2009 alone has Hedman, OEL, Marcus Johansson, Silfverberg, Lehner, Panik, Orlov and Tatar. And that's just the first 2 rounds.

And you said "ignored the CHL" don't give me bullpoop about rounds.

Still didn't answer my question does that mean Bots will not want a CHL player in a package for Ryan O'Reilly?

Like if we trade him to the blues is he going to say no to Jordan Kyrou

If I was JB and Bergevin turned me down, my response: "Aite bro...Imma just sit here and watch the Habs burn."

I highly doubt it.

If Rasmus Dahlin was a CHL’er or we were picking 2nd, this wouldn’t be a discussion

And what happens if you were drafting second and he took Brady tkachuk

I know we can't talk about this now because it will never ever happen lol

All I'm just saying is you can't ignore the CHL players in the draft that's all ..

He can draft all the Europeans he wants but get some CHL players to

How many of each were drafted?

If 200 Euros, but 1,000 Canadians were drafted, kind of blows your point out of the water, doesn't it? And you're also not counting players who are European and only came to NA when they were 16.

I have no problem with him not trading the 3rd overall, he screwed up by letting Zadina go.

Meh he did get a good center but z is the real deal and I'm kind of pissy we couldn't give ROR to the coyotes for their pick

Thanks for ending all the Star Wars films

Just the stand alone ones, but I know you didn't read past, "canceled Star Wars...". And they're not "ending" they're just stepping back and seeing what they need to do differently. Maybe one a year is too much.

At 6:50, you said "I have to do some research"

At 6:57, you came back with fully compiled numbers over 8 years of drafts and determined 275 players were taken, and out of the 713 full-time, current NHLers, they were there.

My BS meter is off the charts
