So maybe? Or maybe CAR just wanted Hamilton, or CGY preferred Hanifin

-I’d have liked to get him, but it’s not like he’s a sure thing. Maybe Botts wasn’t a fan?


So besides there being good reasons why we might not have gotten involved in these trades...

Just because those are the trades that does not mean those are the only players available. Its ridiculous to think that. Botts can make a trade when he gets off of his ass and offers fair value to another team.

Agreed. He's clearly been talking to several other teams that seem like good fits for trades. Easy to imagine that the framework for deals has been discussed and teams want to see how Tavares, etc play out first.

Two new goalies is a given, but they simply have to get a legit LW (not to mention change the chemistry of this team).
