I know it came out earlier that we weren’t gonna qualify Antipin & Wilson,
but i thought it was surprising

They don't want to deal with arb, it's a trend today.
- Lunaion

Yeah, that makes sense i guess
His good playoffs could push his number up

I don’t really get Wilson though
He was a decent player for us...
but did he really do anything to warn that much of a raise?

And also
IF u couldn’t agree to a deal, and it does go to arbitration...
the team could walk away at that point for free

Wouldn’t it make sense to try & strike a deal,
or at least trade the guy’s rights?

Next years powerplay (if ROR isn't traded)

Unit 1

Jack ROR Rhino
Dahlin Risto

Unit 2

FA Mitts Okposo
Guhle Nelson

Thoughts?

Duclair, Reider, Smith-Pelly, Quine, Prince, Fabbri

I'd take a flier on as many of these castoffs as possible to play in the Sabres bottom 6 as long as it means I don't have to watch Johan Larsson, Zemgus Girgensons, Jason Pominville and Jordan Nolan again

- Losman

Looks like he's not part of a ROR deal. Might be angling to re-sign with STL

I really liked ERod playing Eichel's position when Eichel was hurt. I think he could go there, honestly

No QOs for Fabbri and Duclair?

Sign those two + Hutton/Bernier and call it a day

Why call it a day? Those two are as big a question mark as anyone we have.

This is a bit more accurate, started with one and then spread.

Wilson surprises me. With all the defenders we seem to be collecting, not sure Anti had any room here.

I'm hoping Wilson not being reupped is simply because they plan to promote a couple of younger guys from that Bailey, Baptiste, CJ Smith, Malone and Pu group.

I think Dahlin will start on PP 2
If PP1 isn’t working,
then i think he could replace Ristolainen

Putting both them on the points moves Jack down low instead of at the LW circle

They just wanted to avoid arb with Wilson. Botts said they plan to get a contract done with him

Really?!
Wow, that’s surprising

He’s probably gonna sign with a pretty good team for pretty cheap now
Fabbri might light it up on Crosby’s wing for example

Just seems weird since Botts actually traded for Wilson, and i thought he played pretty decent for us

Antipin...
i would’ve thought we could at least trade his rights

Neither are big losses,
just curious decisions right now

I wonder if we will get an explanation for either?

Thought he was a "Botterill guy" seeing as he traded for him. No qualms about signing him. All I hope is he's playing 4th line, not 2nd this year.

I guess Wilson is still a maybe per PS.

Antipin I thought was returning to the KHL, then he wasn't, either way...we have like 8 defenders ahead of him now: Bogo, Dahlin, Risto, McCabe, Pilut, Nelson, Scandella and Guhle. Bogo may get injured but if Antipin's goal is to play in the NHL, he's no longer on a fast track. He's probably in the AHL for the entire year...

Maybe they tried to trade Antipin’s rights & there were no takers?
I guess i was just assuming we’d be able to get a little something for him

RoR will not play on the wing and if he did Eichel needs speed on that side if okpo will be on the other side
