This is true.

I'm just so sick and tired of being an afterthought, unless we overpay for someone. This team needs to start (frank)ing winning

- Powerslave

I like Panarin too
But paying a winger 10mil + might not be the best idea either

I think we are gonna see the kids get some chances this year

Would be great (obviously) if a couple of them could come through for us

We have to start winning before players want to come here.

No, but it doesn’t mean some of them can’t be decent players

We’ll finally get to see some of them get a shot this year i think

You're right. I mean, SOMEONE has to pan out, don't they? I don't even care which one (or two) of Baptiste, Bailey, Smith, O'Regan, Ogelvie or Nylander (Gerbe trigger) pans out this year, just someone!

Does anyone have the Developmental camp roster list yet???

I realllly want to pay close attention to a few guys like Davidsson, Laaksonen, and the regular guys like Asplund, Pu, Olofsson.

Hope that one of these 2016 guys can pan out.... Murray, Nyberg, Budik, Hagel, or Glotov. (I bet we lost the rights to a few of these guys like we did Osmanski thou?)

- JVince11

Didn't Hagel and Budik get released a few months back?

According to SiriusXM Hockey, Skinner did indeed veto a trade to VAN. No word on who Canucks offered.

IF you want to follow the model of how PITT was built where Bots came from... a LOT of their building was through trading for vet players. Never really paid big contracts for UFAs.

Streit, Hainsey, Hagelin, Daley, Kessel, Cole, Lapierre, Perron, Neal, Goc, Stempniak, Jokinen, Iginla, Murray, Morrow, Sutter, Kovalev, Neal, Niskanen, Hamhuis.

They were always VERY active in trade markets. VERY. I'm willing to bet he brings the same approach to BUF to not over pay on UFA market.

I think it’s certainly possible that a guy from that group can become our version of Sheary in Pitt
IF he gets to play with Eichel, like Sheary did/does with Crosby

Gotta give them that chance though
Baptiste is tops on my list
He can snipe, and he’s definitely got the speed

Was it Kris Baker or someone else I don't remember...

but did I see that some said that Mattias Samuelsson could be AHL/NHL ready this year as a shocker? As an 18 year old I thought it sounded weird?

- JVince11

I think that is probably just his size, hes a real big 18 year old

Yep, same idea

I wouldn’t mind seeing
Rodrigues-Eichel-Baptiste

I know that’s not ideal...
but as of now, those are the 2 young guys i feel should get a shot first
Doesn’t necessarily have to be at the same time

Any one here following the rumors mill that Pittsburgh might be looking to deal Matt Murray in favor of Jarry??

Almost an exact thing that happened with MAF and Murray. I'd take him in a heart beat though.

Didn't ERod play a lot as our 3C/4C last year? I didn't think he was doing a lot on the wing any more?

I, personally, am over Bailey/Baptiste... I think they are 3RWers or change of pace guys at best. Not top 6 talent. I know Bailey got a ton of time in the top 6 with injuries the last 2 years. Bailey's speed is nice.

??????
That would be freaking crazy
All Murray did was win a Cup before his “rookie” year
And then won another one
I know he wasn’t “great” last year...
but they’re nuts if they trade him

I'm with you but its the same thing that happened to MAF.

Jarry is a RFA and probably the most "rookie" NHL stud goalie there is out there right now with Helly close on his tails but he's been a starter.

They don't want to pay 8+M for 2 goalies I'd bet... IDK. Just a line of possibilities.
