Would need to be 4-5 year deal
- SABRES 89

Yea.. as figured. Wouldn't want that deal. Too old to play next to jack too IMO.

I'd honestly prefer Skinner over Patches.

I'd still offer sheet Stone before a lot of these options.

Since Ek updated the rumor chart and has a whopping 40% for Risto to the Oilers.

Not saying it will or should happen but for the sake of discussion:

What would a return from the Oilers be for Risto that would make people not so angry about the move

A 32 year old career back up on elite defense teams.... I'm cautious about him.

You need to take off your shoes to count the number of backups to come from Nashville, Anaheim, or LAK that didn't pan out.

I like Bernier or Khudobin more than him actually.

I don't even hate the idea of Halak.

I wouldn't mind seeing if COL would deal Varly now either. 5.9M for 1 year? Sure!

I like the Varlamov idea.

He wants an extension in the 7 mill range a year.
- SABRES 89

but what stopping the sabres to free up money? Bring Max in for the season to help the team and get ready for 2019 free agency. You give MTL a top center they desperately need

If Patch would agree to that, ok
But it sounds like he wants 7 or 8 years

This is his last big contract,
so it seems like he wants it to go as long as possible to get the most $$$ out of it

He’s good enough to have earned a long term deal too
Someone will give it to him as a UFA

He probably goes to Rochester for a year
So hopefully he can work on it there

Nylander-Asplund-Olofsson
could be a line down there for us

- jdfitz77

That should be a fun line to watch in Rochester! Not sure about the goaltending in Rochester but they have a nice influx of talent this year, they should be even better than last year.

I mentioned Vrlamov the other day
Can’t imagine the AVs wanna spend over 10mil in goalies this year

I bet we could get him extremely cheap
Maybe even get them to add?

I think that Varly can still steal games.. .920 S% last year with a 24-16 record. 2.68 GAA.

Don't know why they went the Grubeau route though. Went and got another WSH backup to be their starter just like they did with Varly. If it is to tandem them this year like they did with Bernier last year... 51 and 37 starts split.

Maybe they asked and Varly didn't want to extend there or asked for like 7M? Idk.

Nothing. Edmonton has Larsson, Nurse, and now Bouchard, they'll be fine. Why are we giving them our best RHD and making holes in our defense for them?

agreed. Max's underwhelming number were due to the shifts in MTL IMO

Stone would be a perfect fit here

It makes sense however, Casey isn't ready for 2nd line Center and they know that.

GIVE ME COMPHER BACK DAMN IT!!!!

I still hate that piece.... Miss him. He could be a perfect borderline 2C but defensive draw guy that would be a plus 3C when Casey is ready at 2C.

I trade for him back in every video game season I play.

Johansson should be better
And they’ll sign a Vet to play with him most likely

He’s been inconsistent with them
I think they were finally ready to move in a different direction
They made a nice trade

Wouldn’t be surprised if Orpik signs back with the Caps on the cheap
