Probably, but it would have to be a Taylor hall type deal to make it worth it.

Until then risto can play with dahlin

- Shadman306

I think will sign Pateryn

I would probably do that but don’t think the jets would.

Let’s hope Stastny decided not to resign there so RoR is attractive. I feel like we would need to retain some salary in that deal though.

I think RoR goes to the blues

I don't see why anyone would be against it on this board

You get younger up front and get a more defensive responsible defensemen

Salary wise it would pretty much be $13 million out $13 million in with Trouba's new deal

I agree. Problem is I see no reason why the jets do it

Exactly

The Sabres would have to either eat salary on ROR's contract, add some other pieces, or draft picks.

Unless we're getting Schwartz back (and I can't see the Blues doing that, as that would leave them about as thin as we currently are at LW), that deal probably brings back a Dunn or Parayko on D, maybe a Berglund (contract) and possibly a pick or prospect.

However, with either of those two D coming in, does that put us in a position of dealing a D for a LW?

Not sure, botts did mention making sure deals go down to set up other deals.

At this point I have no idea what we are going to do, we don’t know what his timeline is and because of that there’s a chance we don’t go all too crazy this offseason and we draft high again next year.

I hope botts can pull some xbox type moves and make us competitive next year but I’m about all used up on hope

I wasn’t expecting him to be the starter ? I was thinking a one a 1A 1b type like Miller , Marty Combination

JB did say in an Interview on Draft Day that they planned on playing Ullmark around 30 games so we definitely need someone to take the bulk of the season and hopefully we can get Hutton or a Decent 1A/B in trade for this season.

Edit: Late

Next year's draft is suppose to be Heavy with Forward talent which could be a reason Botts focused more on Defense for this draft.

Hutton seems to be the favorite, but even he's a risk. He's never had that kind of workload and his numbers last season were far better than his averages. Curious to see who he opts for.

I think Buffalo has a better chance than most if what Hutton says was true and wanted to be more of a starting goalie. I think Buffalo gives him the best chance to at-least play starting goalie number of games at least for this season, unless Ullmark blows up and exceeds expectation, which is possible just less likely.

I think they have a decent chance of landing him. I'm just worried that last year was a fluke for him and I'm not comfortable giving him too much term on a deal.

So was ours, that didn't engender any kind of sympathy for Lehner though.

I think they better get fine with it. It’s a fluke if they get to 95 points.

Hutton or Bernier?
- Powerslave

I'm still on the Petr Mrazek bandwagon. They're saying Philly may not qualify him by today's 5pm deadline, so he'll become a UFA. Hoping that happens and he regains his old form here. I'd take a flyer on him (no pun intended).

I wanted to ask you what player was going to make you root for the Sabres to lose all season for. Now I know.

Seriously though, more than likely top 10 again. How does the top of the draft look next year?

- gcomella34

Pretty forward heavy at this point
That’ll probably change a little though
I expect some defensemen will rise as next year goes on

So with John Carlson signing back with the capitals does Ristolainen value go even higher
- gerbe75pts

I’ll bet the Caps re-sign Orpik @ about 1-2mil per, for 2yrs
