I'm not claiming to know the Oilers but to draft a Center in round 2 when you already have McD, Leon and RNH at center seems like a long shot for this guy to be anything more then a 3/4 Center down the road ,Myself I would have gone goalie in second in the 2nd round with wing or D in 3rd round .

Yeah nah. Cs are always more valuable than wingers as they can easily be converted to wingers. With McLeod's speed, he could easily find a home on the wing with Draisaitl thanks to our lack of depth on the left side. If not the wing, the Oilers could use a long term 3C anyway.

Further, they did go goalie in the second round when they traded up to grab Rodrigue.

A lot of what they say about Bouchard is what they said about Nurse. I have always liked Nurse but hopefully Bouchard will develop faster. Watching highlight reels and he seems like a great heads up and smart player. I think he will be a great two way dman and I think top pairing isn't a stretch for him in his prime. I like all the draft picks actually. Scouting has been great since they changed them up a few years ago. Stoked about having two solid goal tending prospects.

RNH is probably playing wing. Plus you can never have too many centers. By the time Mcleod is ready who knows what the team looks like.

That and we ended up with the top NA goalie with our 3rd pick. There was no reason to use an early 2nd on one this year.
