so let's sum things up. bergevin drafts a centre who won't make any impact for at least 3 years. bergevin can't parlay his 4 second roumd picks into anything. uses them to draft a bunch of undersized dmen and forwards. can't trade pacioretty to l.a for muzzin to play with weber now that they signed kovalchuck. after trading galchenyuk and not drafting zadina, trading pacioretty is no longer an intelligent option. bergevin will now be stuck having to keep pacioretty and paying a premium to do it. Tavares doesn't even want to talk to the canadiens. stastny will have his pick of where he wants to play after Tavares signs. it won't be montreal unless bergevin offers him the keys to the vault. and even then, he will probably say thanks but no thanks. at 32, rather play for a contender. so the net change that begevin will have accomplished will be trading galchenyuk for domi. this looks to be the most likely scenario going into next season. but smiley says we have "elite" prospects. "not all of them will pan out but they won't be terrible either." good times!!!

When they don't sign Tavares the clear intelligent option is to trade Pacioretty... and the whole (frank)ing team besides. Fire Bergevin and rebuild the whole (frank)ing shambles of a team. It's becoming more and more clear each year how important high end centers are in winning the cup. Hell Pittsburgh's dominant centers were enough to overcome the biggest mess on D I've ever seen in a playoff team. Montreal is not going to get any strong centers soon so, tear it down. They need to offload Weber's contract asap while he might have some value to a dumb gm like Chiarelli. Price probably has the absolute worst contract in the league so they re stuck with that. If he continues to decline a CBA buy out option might come at some point so they can rid themselves of it then.

Hey I'm realistic about the team, we're pretty much in the worst position possible navigating through rocks and shallow water with captain arrogant idiot at the helm. It's going to suck not getting any joy from hockey for a while, but W/E. If there's any reason for me to avoid bridges it's because I might go homicidal throwing Bergevin off of one.

I have yet to see someone rejoice at the Houde pick. Granted, I haven't seen QP's reaction yet.

Never seen the kid play so can't really comment on the player. All I'll say is that he played for the team Donald Audette was/still is(?) a GM for in Midget AAA, Le Phénix d'Esther Blondin. So there's a connection as Audette is a 'Q scout for the Habs. Underwhelming production to say the least, but from what I gather, he was seen as an offensive guy coming into the 'Q.

From what I gather, asp knows the kid, maybe he could talk about him.

From twitter

Flames are pretty heavy on the left side after the Hanifin/Hamilton trade with very little to show for on the right side (Hamonic & Stone). Even their 2 best D prospects are LD (Valimaki & Kylington), wonder if there would be any interest in Weber or even Petry

they wanted to draft Beaudin I heard, they tried to move up and couldn't do it without paying a ridiculous price.

is there any chance that Brooks Orpik is not a Montreal Canadien by this time next week?

I don't think so, Habs already have like 8 D under contract

7 of them are 6th D at best and the other one is in a wheelchair.

Orpik would be a number 9 D at this point... There's a much better chance Bergevin signs Johnson, not that it's a good thing...

the top 2 UFA centers won't come to MTL, he can't trade for one, his defense is slow as hell and he already has 8 D's signed for next season....

Weber
Petry
Alzner
RealSchlemko
Benn
Juulsen
Mete
Reilly

Can someone injure Price and Weber from the get go so they can have a shot at another top 3 pick next summer.

i dunno man... Brooks Orpik has 16 goals in almost 1000 NHL games. those are numbers that a guy like Marc Bergevin appreciates. and Bergevin seems to have a knack for bringing in washed up players from the Caps.
