So...I just watched Trevor Timmins' scrum. Plenty of questions about "why so few players from the QMJHL" but in the end, nobody asked Timmins to talk about the Quebec born player he drafted, Samuel Houde. Montreal media and their agenda can go (frank) themselves.

With how poor our defense is (both on the team and in the pipeline) ......it's a little concerning that they only drafted 2 this year. And Romanov was a reach.

For sure. I'd rather take a higher priced contract with less term for a player that could at least fill a spot of need....even if they suck. All while getting something better for down the road and add to our prospect pool. Or at least give us at least one blue chip in our system.

Could be Phaneuf... BigMac also said a deal with LA was much closer than it was with SJ and fell through because the Kings and Pacioretty couldn't agree on an extension, probably causing the agent change. Might be something they revisit sooner rather than later

The Brown deal is a little over half a million more than Phaneuf's with an extra year, I'd rather it be Phaneuf
