Since there is no real rebuild and Price can't be moved, and since Tavares would not cost picks or prospects and just beer money, I would prefer if he signs here, personally.

Yeah, even with Tavares this is not a contender at all. Who would play behind Patches, Tavares and Gallagher? The defense is a total mess. I mean, Price had a bad year but what is he supposed to do with that in front of him?

There are up to 9 teams that will have a chance to talk with John Tavares and his camp. In addition to the NYI, Boston, Dallas, SJ,Toronto,Tampa will meet with JT in Los Angeles. Up to 3 more will have phone interviews. Meetings will take place today, tomorrow and Wednesday.

In the event he does come to MTL I'd put Pacioretty and Scherbak with him and have Drouin C Gallagher & Domi, it would be the best way to spread out the offense I think

oh well, Tavares would only screw up next year’s tank job anyways. Center heavy draft next year. Draft Hughes, Newhook or Turcott. Then we have some promising centers.

Kotkaniemi and Ikonen will be Finland’s top 2 centers at the wjhc.
Poehling will be 1st or 2nd line Center for USA.
Olofson is Sweden’s projected #1 center.

Add an elite Center in next years draft and it’s fixed. Then move to defense lol
